As we've commented so often before, getting to the PL is not necessarily some promised land for the smaller clubs.

Based on historical stats only, Palace have a 50% chance of the drop this season.

Let's see where they are at Christmas.

For obvious reasons (given my user name) I am monitoring this situation very closely.
The worrying thing for Palace is that three of their four opening fixtures were games they should expect to get at least 4-6 points from. Huddersfield and Swansea at home and Burnley away. They actually won away at Liverpool last season as well which was their other game. They do have Sakho, Zaha and the Chelsea lad to come back from injury but a potentially winnable game at home to the Saints is followed by away visits to the Manchester clubs then a home game to Chelsea so they are not going to be moving up that table anytime soon!

 

That's certainly a tough start. Do we really want to get promoted?!
