    Lucas barrios from Dortmund! but we have to be realistic mike Ashley will only give us 5m of that 35m to spend so we'll end up with someone like Jason Roberts...

    Come on guys theres no time to get someone else in, not anyone good anyway.

    Persevere with Ranger as he is the only one of our 4 remaining strikers who has the same potential as Carroll.

    Shola, Best and Lover are all older and worse than Carroll, Ranger is younger and can be better.

    Surely.. more chances for Ranger now!

    I'll personally like to see how a Best + Ranger partnership turns out.

    What do you think about Airey?

    IMO we've shown enough to survive, despite Ameobi's and Best's inconsistent, we'll be just about OK but it will be a struggle!

    nobody will be coming in at this time - we will still have enough to stay up. thing is that 35m wont be reinvested - straight into the fat ones pocket

    Doubt Spurs will do business, so rule out Pav or Crouch. The only person I can think of off the top of my head who I'd like is Landon Donovan but there isnt even time for him to fly over. Some of the names mentioned are awful play Ranger and build the team around him as we were going to do with Carroll.

    not really our record with out him has been no worse than with him it's the timing,doesn't leave a lot of time left to buy anyone (unless kuyt on loan is part of the deal)
    besides anyone supporting the toon during the 80's will have seen this time after time and it doesn't come as a shock

    I know.. people but these could be DECENT short term stop-gaps until the end of the season:

    Dj Campell
    Luke Varney
    Jason Roberts(proven EPL player)
    Nicky Maynard(Championship but worth a punt)
    Shane Long
    Dirk Kuty(loan, part of Carroll deal)

    I know I can think of more, but not quite sure.. has to be someone in the EPL(Ricardo Fuller anyone?)
