Who does everyone think is going down this season? I think, personally, QPR are nailed on to go down after their lack of signings and general lack of quality in the team. Players like Helguson, Derry and Clint Hill just aren't going to be good enough for the premiership in my opinion. I also think Bolton and Newcastle could get dragged into a relegation battle judging by the lack of summer signings and key outgoing players.
Great shout, forgot all about them. I suppose its a tough one with Blackburn as their owners might end splashing a bit of cash around, I doubt it, but we don't know what they'll do in the transfer market yet, atleast with Bolton, QPR and Newcastle we know they like to spend as little as possible. Dangerous game, that.
Blackburn: Can see them going down this season. Venky's are a joke of an owner and haven't given Steve Kean any money. Have sold Phil Jones to United and Samba looks like he will be off. Not strong enough in defence and don't have a 15 goals a season striker. Norwich: Paul Lambert is an excellent manager but they have been buying good Championship players. A risky strategy and one I feel won't work. Players like Morison and Vaughan are good Championship strikers but there are big questions marks over their ability to step up. Q.P.R: I like Neil Warnock but he's been treated like ****e by the Q.P.R owners. They are worth billions and aren't giving Warnock a penny. Defence isn't strong enough in my opinion and they don't have sqaud depth. Rumours of a takeover could save them but at the moment they look like going down.
liverpool, man utd and chelsea just for a laugh , on a serious note , i reckon norwich, swansea, and one from blackburn, wolves and everton. i'd love west brom to go down just to shove it up woys hole
There's always one Yeah, I'd love Roy to **** off and go down, I can't stand even looking at his face if I'm being honest. He's going to ruin next season if he doesn't get sacked.
Woah, that's a lot of hate towards woy! I don't hate the guy at all, I think he's a good manager who did very well with fulham and has done very well with WBA after leaving us. His only problem is that he is a good manager for mediocre teams, and that his tactics were simply not positive enough for a team the size of Liverpool. You really should be questioning the people that employed him, and who thought that he was up to the job.
i know that i just feel it'll be too much for Swansea and WBA is only wishful thinking against a certain ''manager'' not the club itself
Why does everyone think Bolton haven't signed anybody Pratley, Reo-Coker and Eagles are enough to cover two injured players in mid-field (Holden to play in October) and we are probably gonna get a RW to cover Lee! We're also (properly) trying to get a striker (Jeffern, and now N'gog) and we also got a RB (Myers) to replace our injured cover RB. We're sorted To the question - Wolves - It will be close, but the team spirit of Wolves will not last forever, and I reckon that they will go down (closely) this time round. Q.P.R - There are fans that are boycotting next season, that alone tells you that the morale of the team will be too low and negative for the competitiveness of the Premier League. Blackburn - After that shocking 2nd half to the season, and the fact that they are probably losing Samba, will send them to a relegation unless Venkys **** off and Kean ****s off.
They aren't actually an improvement on what you've already got. You've also lost your main source of goals from last season (Sturridge and Elmander) and haven't replaced them. And even if you sign Ngog he won't score more than 5 for you.
Wigan, QPR and Swansea. Wigan have again sold their best player and surely cant continue doing that each year.
Is that a, "He's a nice guy but...." Because he isn't even a nice guy. When that started doing the rounds last summer Scandinavian journalists smirked. He's got a rep as a nice guy because he cultivates it with his careful media statements but he let his guard down at Liverpool as he started to squirm that none of anything was any of his fault. I don't expect managers to admit fault but when you start blaming fans you're off any 'nice guy' register. Steve McLaren got to a UEFA final and nobody called him a good manager. I reckon McLaren's a far better manager than Hodgson. And a nicer guy. HODGSON WIN %s Fulham - 39.06 Liverpool - 41.94 West Brom - 41.67 McLAREN WIN %s Boro - 38.80 England - 50.00 Twente - 63.37 Wolfsburg - 23.81
The three that are going down are Swansea. QPR Norwich. QPR have a chance if they sack Colin W anker and appoint a good manager.
My bets for relegation would be: Wolves- they've been close the last few years and don't seem to be able to pull away from the relegation battle Norwich- i like Paul Lambert but i don't think their squad will be strong enough. and either QPR or Swansea as i think one of them will make it normally out of the three teams that get promoted one of them usually stay up. To all those saying Bolton i can't see that one to be honest they didn't really look in trouble last season and although they've lost a few players i still definitely think there will be three teams who are worse than them.
I can't for the life of me see Bolton go down.I reckon they will battle it out with Everton for 7th/8th.
Bolton's top 3 scorers last season were Elmander(10), Sturridge(8) and Davies(8) The top 3 providers in the squad were Lee (8), Davies (6) and Elmander (6) Looking at that, Sturridge, Elmander and Lee won't be playing next season all for different reasons, plus that's not adding the fact that Cahill is likely to leave, who kept their defence together at times when it was threatening too fall apart. I think it's very plausible that they could go down, especially with their start to the season (QPR (A), Chelsea (H), Liverpool (A), Man Utd (H), Norwich (H), Arsenal (A)) A bad start to a season can ruin the whole team spirit and knock players confidence badly, which is why I feel Bolton could go down. And who would've guessed that Birmingham would be going down this time last year?
i don't think you can compare Bolton with Birmingham last year, Brum had only been back in the prem one year before last season and its always harder for teams in their second season and although they did well their first season its different to Bolton who are these days an established premier league side. I think that they have a good manager in Owen Coyle and they still have the nucleus of a good squad and you can point to the fact that Sturridge and Elmander have left but i don't think it will have as much of a negative impact as you think. Elamander as you say was their top scorer but before the last season he had been quite poor and even taking in to account last seasons goals his goal return for them was pretty bad. Sturridge only joined them on loan in January and so they only relied on him for half a season and prior to his arrival they were still relatively safe in the league. Cahill, i disagree that his departure is definitely going to happen this summer so far it seems no one has made a concrete offer for him its all just rumor at the min. i appreciate your opinion on why you think they will go down i just still think that even minus the players you talked about that they will have too much for most of the teams who i think will also be in the relegation battle.
