Just wondering what people would choose if they had the option of

Relegation this year followed by winning the championship next season or we just escape the drop this year and find ourselves in a similar position next year.

Clearly there are other potential scenarios

Do we stay up after the second relegation battle in this scenario?

It's a no brainer. After the last two promotion seasons. This desperate grubbing around for points in unlikely situations is awful.Far better to be putting a few past The Binners at The Stadium of Gloom.

There is a lot of assumptions going on here? I expect qpr/wigan/reading were saying the exact same thing last season. So surely it must be best to stay up?

No assumptions. Just wondered what people would prefer if we could see into the future and choose one of the 2 options. I suppose it really comes down to whether the status & money of being in the premier league is more improtant to people than winning something. What would make people feel better winning the championship and all the highs that would come with it or the weekly lows of a relegation battle.

You would think so wouldn't you?

I was so happy when we were promoted to the PL but after watching 2 seasons of our players playing with so much fear I have had enough of it.

Sure some of it was to do with the manager but there is so much pressure on the players it's not even funny. I also miss the Tuesday night games and the derby games.

You also have a lot of diving in the PL much more than in the Championship.

I've not enjoyed this season at all.
If we stay up then this realistically what we can expect to look forward to every season we are in the prem.
I would take relegation if we could guarrentee promotion the next season, BUT it's by no means a cert that we would.
QPR with all there STAR players have struggled to keep the pace and at best will get play offs.
Reading are scrapping to try and make the playoffs.
Bolton, Blackburn & other established prem teams haven't even come close since dropping down so it's by no means a given that we'd manage to bounce straight back.
Tough one to choose so I'd probably say stay up where the money is and hope a new manager new players could get us a bit closer to the top half.

You have half a team of mid table championship players so you won't get straight back up..... We know we sold them to you....

We have had these players for a few seasons now and in 2 of them we finished 12th and 11th in the PL.

Stay up and fight on for me.

Whilst a promotion season would be fun, the year two survival bid will be more difficult than if we've scraped survival the two previous seasons, because of the financial benefits even being a weak Premier League side has. For us to develop into a "comfortable" mid-table Prem side, in the way that Newcastle and Southampton have been this season, then we need to be in the Premier League to build towards that goal. Relegation also makes it harder to expand Carrow Road, something I think is important in the development of the club.

On a personal level, as I'm unable to get to Carrow Road often, the lack of TV coverage of the championship would be a pain too.

Not being funny and i hate to bring the h word into it, but surely you would take another season of prem football if you had a manager who could get norwich playing like they did yesterday with freedom.

Stay up and fight, for now
Being an exile the limited coverage of the chanpionship is an issue for me on a selfish note

I don't ever mind too much which league we are in as long as it is competitive and therefore entertaining. I don't feel I enjoy football matches more because we are playing "world class" opposition. This is one of the reasons I am not that big a fan of the premier league. There are only a few teams who will ever win it and that is because they have lots of money. Not sure that is very entertaining, I would rather a league which is open and unpredictable every season. If I was a player however, I would want to be playing the best every week and would have the belief we could beat them.

Two reasons that most people want to stay up are a) pride b) better coverage

A promotion season is always great fun, but struggling in the Premier League is always more entertaining than struggling in the Championship. Those three recent seasons where we finished 16th, 17th and 22nd were absolutely miserable and there's no reason that won't happen again if we go down. At least we know we've got a decent team now, even if the ones around us are better. Struggling in the Championship is much worse as you've got a rubbish team being beaten by equally rubbish teams with dire football being played by both.

Not sure the football in the prem is always that much better to watch? I agree if you were going to be struggling in both leagues you would rather the prem.

Well, in this scenario I guess either option is pretty palatable isn't it. Miraculous escape from relegation followed by a fourth season in the premier league, or a brief and highly successful visit to the championship. I'd take either of those happily!

It wasn't mentioned in the OP, but if they abolished these ludicrous 'parachute payments' it would be far easier to decide - in fact there could only really be one winner.

Why are the three poorest teams in our division given an (obscene) payment of circa £16m over four years, to reward them for failure to be good enough to survive after 38 games?

It makes the Chumpionship an uneven playing field, slanted in favour of those clubs which were not good enough to survive the 'banquet' being served at the top table.

Stay and fight on - and may that fight be a good one, rather than what we've largely been served up this season.
