In the first place, 40 points should see teams sufficiently safe this season. Second, although our current total of 38 points may well see teams relegated, we have fixtures like Wigan, Wolves and West Brom at home. Third, we may have gained 1 point out of 18, but Blackburn, Villa and Blackpool are in freefall (so are smelly-castle) and I would imagine it will be one of those 3 plus, Wigan and maybe Birmingham or West Brom for the drop. Finally, if we were to face the unthinkable, we'd thoroughly deserve to go down and I would wish Bruce to finish his days on earth eating 1 potato a day in a Siberian Gulag
Agree with you on this Myrtle - there's all sorts of turmoil going on at clubs, below us, that were playing well. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/teams/a/aston_villa/9431867.stm Interesting that the teams who were losing week-in week-out, are earning good results (Wolves, West Ham.... long overdue some say)
Don't want to rely on other teams doing worse than us, things are getting a little too close for comfort...... it wouldn't take too many unexpected results
"When that stadium is full it's an intimidating place to play, it makes the team play better, it causes us to win more, to get more Premier League points But the facts are when we have 40k plus the team doesnt play better.
unexpected results - has been a strange season for these - now is not the time for those below us to pick up unexpected points......
