Relegation battle, what clubs will consider winnable games in the tight bottom half of the table. (w) = targeted as a winnable game, not predicting an actual win. So the final points are the maximum points that teams can realistically expect to finish on. Looks likely to me apart from Norwich and West Brom.
Had a look at this thread on your board. Didn't make a comment over there, but as you've posted it across here, I will. Aren't there going to be any draws until the end of the season? Have all those bottom half clubs given up on getting anything at all from the "big boys"? Does the fact that these clubs will consider those games you've highlighted as "winnable" mean it will happen?
Too many variables, the shock results (they are a shock, so you can't allow for them), draws will play a big part, especially to those needing the 3 points. I said in another thread we could be alright with 3 wins from here if others fail to get what they need .
Sorry it's based on maximum points realistically available. Obviously there will be some shock results and draws.
Ahhh....it's the "expectations" of wins he's identifying Dai, and that double win expectation is repeated all the way through so there's no way the points for each club can possibly stack up like that. Also note that he's got West Brom to win 6 of their last 10 games when they've only won 4 of their first 28 games. If they get 46 points on the board come May, I'll eat my hat.
I'm hoping that going on your logic isn't a reality. Gets you thinking nonetheless.. I can't see Palace getting anything from Villa and West Ham.. Time will tell
Exactly not saying it's definite just highlights the task ahead, I see WBA having a easier task than Norwich at picking up points
Feel we're going have to be ahead of Palace and Brom as I think Sunderland have enough to get themselves well clear. Possible
I think they would see it as a winnable game.. The Jacks would be doing us a huge favour by beating them
I also think if you win all your *winnable games you will be fine. also I think if you can get a draw or a shock win against any of the top half teams will increase your chances massively.
We tend to always have a good time against WBA don't think we've lost to them in the prem and have slaughtered them every home game. I do think this will be a different story tho due to the circumstances 2~1 swans I think you will struggle against a Everton team desperately trying to bounce back after a few embarrassments lately. The last meeting you defended for your lives. 3~1 Everton (sorry)
Recent history shows that we also seem to like grabbing points from the baggies, I think we beat them consecutively for around 3 seasons in a row (maybe) unless im confusing them with the residents of Bellend road I'm not optimistic for Everton, I think we are capable of getting a draw or maybe sneaking a cheeky win, but I'm not optimistic
I see on your board the Monk Out brigade did not take long to make their feeling known. Talk of Swansea being in free fall, looking at the fixtures I can see that they mean. 22/03 Everton v Swansea 25/03 Arsenal v Swansea 29/03 Swansea v Norwich 05/04 Hull v Swansea 13/04 Swansea v Chelsea 19/04 Newcastle v Swansea 26/04 Swansea v Aston Villa 03/05 Swansea v Southampton 11/05 Sunderland v Swansea Looking at it I can't see Swansea getting many more points. You're home game V Norwich is massive, you need to take full points against them and Villa but can't see it to be honest.
Dunno still think we're capable of winning and getting points from 22/03 Everton v Swansea 25/03 Arsenal v Swansea 29/03 Swansea v Norwich (W) 05/04 Hull v Swansea (W) b4 FA final 13/04 Swansea v Chelsea 19/04 Newcastle v Swansea (D) 26/04 Swansea v Aston Villa (W) 03/05 Swansea v Southampton (D) 11/05 Sunderland v Swansea (W) 14 points, will definitely keep us safe. Monk now has to learn his lessons from his past mistakes. Perhaps a bit over optimistic admittedly. How do you rate your chances. Also wanted to ask, do u think the sacking of MM will cost you premiership football for next season? I come in peace, and not on a wind up.
We are no worse off than we were weeks ago and we are not as bad as it could have been with the bottom teams not winning, Fulham and cardiff are gone and its between norwich, palace, Wba and sunderland for the last place. A couple of wins and we will finish in around 13 place, I have no fear of us going down whatsoever. Id like to see cardiff stay up but they dont have many quality players and even though the two best player in marshal and caulker are doing their best they are still leaking more goals than they can score. If it was not for those two players cardiff would be rock bottom and miles behind the rest and would have been relegated by now....
Us and Fulham are gone. Swansea , Palace , WBA and Sunderland for the other spot. It will be an interesting summer for both Welsh clubs. Will Tan sell every available playing asset to recover the debts? If so its another relegation battle or do we just sell the likes of Caulker , Medel , Marshall and probably Mutch who should all be playing top end PL football. Then reinvest for another promotion push. Keep Mutch and Marshall and we have enough to win the Championship anyway. I think both will be sold though. Swansea look an outfit in total decline with divisions in the camp and a manager out of his depth. Can they continue to punch above their weight or can a new manager sort them out. Theyve done well to survive so long can they continue to do so.? Looks doubtful. But I think they will be safe this season.
