Not sure if many will find this interesting but here goes: Jack Diamond, Stockport, League One. Started and played 73 minutes in a 2-0 win. Henry Fieldson, Queens Park, Scottish Championship. Named on the bench in a 1-1 draw with Livingston, didn't get on the pitch. Michael Spellman, Newport, League Two. Didn't make the bench in a 3-2 defeat. Ellis Taylor, Harrogate, League Two. Got the last 9 minutes for Harrogate in a 2-0 defeat.
Not a bad idea for a thread and it made me wonder if Embleton got a game for Blackpool. According to the BBC website, he came on as a sub after 60 mins
I watched the highlights and he looked rapid. Broke through on the right but skied his effort in comical fashion, summed him up for me, I don't think he makes it out of League One but I reckon he shines there. Looks a very decent athlete, not sure he is a good enough footballer though.
Is this thread just trying to find another way to moan about the club, if a youngster does well after being released.
I wouldn’t have thought so, not for me anyway It’s great to see players who have came through here, do well elsewhere.
I'm thinking what some of the people on this forum are like. I have never complained about anything the club have done!
I think that it might well be the exact opposite - we frequently hear about youngsters being released and people querying why they weren't offered a contract - Ellis Taylor being a case in point - this might actually show that our people really do know what they are doing!!
Personally I’m hoping to see these young lads do well for themselves. We’ve seen likes of Ellis Taylor in U23s and it’s good to know they can go on and establish a career.
Ellis Taylor played 90 minutes for Harrogate the other night and got an assist after a cracking run. Good to see
It was an absolute screamer too from outside of the box He’s doing well in a LWB role there. Fantastic to see
I think he’ll prove better than that, wouldn’t be surprised if he eventually made it to championship. He has goals in his left foot- only needs to be okay at everything else to be very useful and with experience I think he could move up the leagues.
Hope you are right, i think he will play L1 at best - doesnt have the physicality for the championship but he has the technical ability to play at L1 level
Not that young these days but still playing Jordan Cook has now signed a one-year deal with Shildon in non-league ahead of the 2024-25 season having played with Blyth Spartans last campaign. Cook has also enjoyed stints with Hartlepool United and Gateshead in recent years. I went to school with his mam
