All season we have been doubted. All their careers the players have been rejected and doubting Schmeichel- rejected by Man City and Leeds, always living in his dads shadow. If he wins a Premier League title then you can no longer say that Simpson- Rejected by Man U, Newcastle and QPR. He has turned his career around in the last 12 months Morgan- Nobody would take a risk on him at Forest Huth- Rejected by Chelsea and Stoke Fuchs- Never played for one of the big clubs Mahrez- playing in the French 2nd divison. Even St. Mirren wouldnt offer him a contract Drinkwater- rejected by Man U. Had numerous loans until we took a chance on him Kante- Playing in the French 8th divison 4 years ago Albrighton- Rejected by Aston Villa Okazaki- Same as Fuchs. Never really rejected but no big clubs looked at him Vardy- Rejected by Sheffield Wednesday and left in non league for years. People laughed at us for paying £1M for him How did this bunch become soon to be Champions? Hardwork, passion, work ethic and never say die attitude Saviour these next few weeks lads
Fuchs has always been successful -but apart from him (and maybe Okazaki) they have all used that rejection to become the players that they are today
It would be only right and proper for us (United) to win tomorrow, that way Leicester can win the title against Everton next week at home and Chelsea (as abdicating champions) would have to give them a guard of honour at the Bridge on the last day of the season.
More fitting to our fairytale to we realise our dream at the theatre of dreams It will be the day David truley beat Goliath in his own backyard
I may have a slightly biased view in my post Would still be nice to see you win it with a full house of home supporters though and the Chelsea guard of honour would be a great bonus
... you have left out a very important factor ... an astute visionary manager who had the nous to maximise the potential and get them to play to their strengths and more importantly as a team where each individual accepts their role and nobody is more important than 'the team' ... Forza Claudio.
Ranieri was a joke when he was appointed. Sacked by Greece for losing twice to Faroe Islands. Alot of us including me was massively underwhelmed by his appointment. The media made jokes about him and the bookies pretty much had him on the verge of the sack with us getting relegated. 5000-1 to win the league and here we are One last push and were there. Just over 12 hours til KO and the the prospect of what can be achieve today is starting to seem real. Dilly ding dilly dong COME ON LEICESTER!!!!!
Fair play Fosse, many of us weren't inspired by Claudio but like Proud, I immediately changed my mind and admit I was wrong. You saw something in his appointment we didn't but nobody in their wildest dreams could have known what the 1st May this year would become!
... entirely agree John ... my expectations, based on his club management wherever he had been were that he would improve us and that we would not be in the relegation scrap,.. never did I imagine in my wildest dreams that we would have a season like this ... based on where we will finish this season and given the gulf now in the game in terms of money, Ranieri has become the most successful (so by implication, the best) manager in Leicester City Football Club's history... truly fkin awesome achievement and something I wasn't honestly expecting to see in my lifetime ... Forza Claudio, Forza Leicester City. ...
You've been the best 'team' all season, now go and finish the job in style... All the best, Forza Claudio...
All the best to the new PL champions. Whether you win the league against United or Everton though, as we are the outgoing Champions, I think you will be getting a guard of honour from us as Stamford Bridge regardless. You should anyway in my view.
Hi. I've looked at your team and at first glance thought the same. No big names. There are a couple of Leicester fans where I work. One poor fella didn't put his 'joke' bet on them to win this season!! The end of last season proves it wasn't a fluke. I've seen a tremendous work ethic. Especially up front watching the likes of Vardy and Okazaki chasing everything. Closing down. All I see of my club is lazy lumbering. I'd say most of us thought it wouldn't last. However, winning at Tottenham and Manchester City made you serious contenders. Lost to only Arsenal and Liverpool, bouncing back from them, clean sheets, goal-scorers. You deserve it. Well done.
I have to add, your Thai owners. Are they mega rich? I don't think you've spent big either. Then Ranieri. I felt sorry for him when Chelsea replaced him with Mourinho. Claudio is a classy. Funny. Media-friendly. This will be his first Championship title I believe. Well-deserved. Will you give him the freedom of the city? The city should!! For years, the likes of Bolton and Charlton were considered the models. Leicester City 2015/16 have blown that away. The new tv deal, Champions League football, from the depths of League One and financial struggles....God, I'm jealous. I'll admit that. Why can't my team do a 'Leicester' this season...and the next?!!
They had interviews with Schalke fans and they were glad to see him go - was on one of those "who are these players" interviews that I can't find anymore.
