Anyone think of any bands that they never got round to seeing and regretted it. Thin Lizzy I had the opportunity of seeing at The Apollo but for some reason did not go. Actually even better can anyone think of some bands/artists that you regretted going to see. Ironically enough, considering I consider myself as a bit of a Thin White Duke, I went to see him at Roker Park in 1987 on the pompous over inflated self indulgent Glass Spider Tour. Christ he was awful, real cheesey stuff. The only one highlight was a fantastic rendition of "All The Madmen".
No, seen just about everyone I've wanted to see. Plenty of bands I would have liked to have seen that were before my time like the Kinks and ELO (yeah, I know!)
I can't be ****ed with gigs any more. I used to go to one almost every week but now lucky if I make one or two a year. This year will be first I've not been to a festival since 2000 as well. Sick of them, same pish different year.
I regret missing out on seeing the St Winifred's School Choir live back in 1980. Could've got a backstage pass for the after show party too. Some of those girls were wild.
Yeah, The Kinks would have been great. I liked ELO when I was a kid. Nothing wrong with having an eclectic taste in music. One should keep ones ears to most music. Must admit though Rap and Death Metal aren't quite my cup of tea.
Yeah same, I remember travelling the country for gigs and now I just can't be ****ed. I only going to one concert this year and that's on my doorstep. Festivals suck, every weirdo seems to be attracted to them.
Never been to a festival and will never go to one. Just does not appeal. I mean what if you're down the front or even in the middle and you suddenly need a tom tit. There are certain things that need to be readily available shall we say.
Yeah, getting to be the same. Plus, all the best gigs are in Glasgow and it's always a right fanny about trying to get back to Buchanan Street for the last bus to Edinburgh. Then you get halfway home and you're bursting for a pish and the **** of a driver wont stop
I started with gigs when I was 15, I did 7 or 8 years of it and it costs a lot. I just can't be bothered with it now. Most the people that do gigs these days at <16 (Huth's playground).
Many bands that I like ended up re-forming so I got to see them eventually. The biggest regret was not making the effort to see Bo Diddley (with his square geetaar!) before he popped his clogs. He would tour nearly every year and usually did a night or two at the Hammersmith Odeon and I always thought it would be a great experience because he was off his bonce and totally unique.
Yeah I was 14/15 when I first started going. 1979 was a good year. Best band I've seen live? The Undertones 1983 Fusion, Aberdeen (That's Liquid to you Venom).
Best band I have seen would either be Incubus 2007, Linkin Park 2009 or Limp Bizkit 2009. No, emo rock bands <nuh>
