There are some daft ones about, but which is the most ridiculous? I don't know much about non-English ones (I think they say 'hen' in parts of Scotland), but we've got 'cock' (Lancashire), 'pet' (North East), 'la' (Merseyside), 'love' (Yorkshire), 'mucker' (London) and 'my lover' (West Country). But by far the silliest in my opinion, is 'duck' which is popular in the East Midlands, and is used by men and women for men and women. Any others you know of? EDIT: It seems 'mucker' isn't as Cockney as I thought. Maybe 'geezer' then.
My ex dragon was from Stoke on Trent. I have to say I found being called "doooks" by the out-laws was always very strange. In Southampton, if you are male you are "nipper" until you become "mush" somewhere around your late teens.
I say 'love' too. It's pretty common this side of the Pennines really. Only for birds though. I think some of you lot say it to blokes too don't you?
Mucker is an Irish term, usually the north it comes from 'Mo Chara' meaning 'my friend' in Irish. Don't say I never taught you anything Jip.
A lot of Irish blokes I know refer to their mates as horse or Shkin. I donlt know whether it's a common thing though or some kind of bizarre slang appropriated by the Irish population of north West london......
I thoguht horse probably was from the country - the people I know who use it most are from Mayo and Kildare
Was gonna say mucker is from over here. I think san, big mon, mucker & mate are the ones used over here the most.
