Very sad news,Reg Quantrill, banjo player and one of the original Wurzels on Combine Harvester, friend of Adge Cutler died yesterday aged 77.. Best wishes to family and friends. RIP Reg.
I'm off to see the Wurzles at the Plough in Piling, excuse my ignorance but did he still play in the band?
Replaced by Pete Budd in 1974 and much to my suprise he was not on Combine Harvester,it was Pete Budd... http://www.somersetmade.co.uk/wurzelmania/wurzelography.php
Thanks Wiz only know their songs not a great deal about them, wife booked it as a birthday surprise not a good one as I knew when she tried paying the money to her friend when I was in the next room
Such sad news about Reg - thanks for posting Wiz. Saw the Wurzels late 60's in some social club bedecked with hay bales near Midsomer Norton. For me it was Adge who was the absolute legend and never thought they were anywhere near as good after his death in '74. 'Twice Daily' and 'Don't Tell I, Tell ee' Magic.
Plus other classics Adge wrote like Avonmouth Mary, Somerset Space Race, Thees Gotten Where Thee Casn't Back Un Hasn't & Virtute Et Industrial....pure genius
for some reason i allways remember a song called, thees casnt kill cooch, no idea what it was about though, but virtute et industrial great song..... just where they gos nobody knows and taint no bloody wonder..
