After the last time we were in the Europa League it made me realise how good the refs are here compared to on the continent.

The standard of refereeing is atrocious. The quicker we have a cyborg videobot stalking the players like the Terminator, the better. Imagine John Terry going to have a moan at something wielding enough weaponary to splatter the racists' peebrain all over the pitch...

The Leicester run has been an absolute joke reffing wise, as if the doping twats actually need the help.

english refs judge players in this country ... they say they dont but they do ..this is wrong ..the euro refs could not give a toss if its a huge club or ..a little club .

calls will be the same ...which is better for the game ... and the little boys .. a bit of rotation would be good for the game

How about the players having some respect and stop cheating? Until then it's impossible for refs

Players are the problem. How about we tackle that issue before rounding on the refs? Its quite a simple process involving retrospective bans. Cheating would become a much more risky business.

Players disrespect ref's too much and the ref's have let them get away with it for too long, I particularly hate the way players steal yards at throw ins and ref's have just allowed it so it becomes accepted, same with free kicks, watching matches this weekend the spray foam used to mark where the players should be at a free kick is now being stood on and in one case even in front of and the ref did nothing. Moss at Leicester yesterday gave one penalty for holding against Leicester then ignored other obvious incidents, why hasn't he gone into the dressing rooms before the match and warned the players and why has he not done this in all matches since the start of the season, even if they get things wrong they should at least be consistent in how they work during a match and their actions in dealing with infringements.

Agree on the throw ins and FKs comment. A long jumper or triple jumper would have his effort declared a foul in the same situation, why do footballers have different treatment?

I noticed in one of the televised games at the weekend the ref mark the spot for the free kick to be taken (just outside the box), then mark the line for the defenders to stay behind, then the player taking the free kick picked the ball up and moved it back 2 or 3 feet to get a bit extra space to get it over the wall. Surely that shouldn't be allowed either?

The incident where Huth went up for a header in the opposition box and was literally flung to the ground whilst in mid-air was a joke. The ref was looking straight at it but gave nothing.

I don't know if it was the same match but I was watching one where the commentators picked up on it yet the assistant seemed to have gone blind, I think the officials in general are in a mess and need to go back to applying the laws of the game properly, players are like everyone they will always take advantage when given the chance.

The ref's in rugby wouldn't let the teams move the position of a line out or a scrum to suit their needs, I always remember Drogba at SJP taking a free kick, he moved the ball about 5 foot to change the angle so that he could have a shot on goal, everyone in the Milburn stand at that end was shouting yet the ref and assistant just let it go, needless to say he scored from the free kick.

The first time I lost my innocence about the cheating of football players in such silly situations was I believe against Dinamo Kiev (it was defo the champions league), where the ball went out of play and their left back literally took the throw in about 30 yards further up the pitch, which ended in a goal scoring move. Glad we beat the cheating ****s.

I can deal with refs getting decisions wrong but the inconsistency with interpreting the laws is wrong. The deal with holding at corners could also be sorted by booking those doing it before the corner is taken and penalising those who do it once the ball is play. No reason why the linesman on that side can't come round to the goal-line to assist while corner is being taken.
The gaining ground at throw-ins is annoying but probably only critical when its done in the oppositions half - however don't see why they don't issue linesman with a spray and let him mark the throw point when he is there. Don't bother telling player to get back - just treat it as a foul throw and award to opposition.

I think the standard of refereeing in this country is better than most, but we still need the introduction of video technology.

The decisions are spoiling the games / results and this is made more difficult because players are cheating / conning the officials.

Football does not need a bad decision to cost a team it's Premier League status and the inevitable witch-hunt which would ensue.

Retrospective bans for cheating players and video tech for the officials :emoticon-0148-yes:
