I would like to take a moment to wish a fellow Welshman good luck and I hope you can all join me in supporting the guy through his current problems.

Having achieved the double over W*nky Wanderers over the weekend for the first time in eons. I would like to throw my support behind Deano this Friday in the quest for his first league win since joining the Mollies. The fact they are playing Il Watfordano has nothing to do with my support, I'm simply backing my fellow countryman. <whistle>

Well it is St Davids Day.

On a serious note it's sad to see Jolly Rog languishing down there. Still puts his body on the line. True profesional. <ok>

The saying "too good to go down" is well worn and often wrong but I agree with ITI.

I would very much like to see Wolves stay up and they can start by taking points off the Italian Backpackers on Friday. It would be nice to see Jolly Rog rise majestically to nod a couple past their keeper. He has only scored twice for Wolves in 2 years so is due to notch again.

Strange how his career has gone backwards. He was one of my favourite players in his time at City and could always be relied upon to put himself in the firing line and be a threat on the opponents goal at set pieces. While physically strong and great in the air (although how did all 3 of their centre backs allow Campbell to score with 2 headers?), his ball skills are somewhat limited and I guess if his confidence is shot he has little to fall back on. Friday would be a good time to get that back.

Wolves set out a negative store against us and improved when Ebanks-Blake and Doyle came on. They should start with them to give the opposition defenders something to think about.

Deano has bitten off more than he can chew at Wolves. Doncaster was a comfortable club for him - Wolves are a different kettle of fish altogether.

Don't blame him for having a go at a bigger challenge, but if they go down, he'll be gone.

I can't dislike the guy, but I think he's a bit of a lightweight in the managerial stakes at Championship level and above.

Having said that, if he conjures a win on Friday against a very competant Zola outfit, he'll go up in my estimations big time.

    BfB!
Jolly Rog remains one of my City favourites. A true commitment player who I think would be a good squad player for us. I think the Reason Campbell headed two against them was because we kept stretching them so wide apart when we attacked the flanks.

I don't think there are many defenders in this division that Campbell and Bellamy can't turn inside out on the ground. The surprising thing was that Fraizer did them in the air.

Just one of those days or has Jolly Rog gone backwards? Sorry Bob, but I'm afraid it's the latter for me, and a bench spot would all he could expect here right now.

Not saying I didn't like him back then and was gutted when the Riddler sold him to Brum, but that was then - this is now. <ok>

I was thinking of the experience he would offer. He's been there and done it at the top. Good back up player who just needs a lift.

Did he do the Ayatollah on command on Sunday like he did at CCS?

I'd take him as a preferred alternative right now to Little Ben who will have his time in the future.

The guy kept us out of administration on a shoestring by selling players at a good price, once he left players went for nothing or small fees but he got us the best investors he could before he went.

During his time we suddenly became a force in the championship which has led to high expectations each season.

I appreciate what he did if no one else does.

Wolves have been sucked into the relegation mire and I can't see them pulling clear, whether Saunders is manager or not. They will really stuggle against Watford who have pace to burn, they look like serious automatic contenders. Our game up there will be one to watch, could be our promotion clincher.

As for Rog, he was fantastic for us and it was great to see the delight on his face when he won the Carling cup with B'ham a couple of years ago. Not sure about returning though, they say its always harder second time around.

Who are you talking about jck - I assume it's the Riddler and if so, you're not entirely correct.

Rog was sold to Brum for a fee that seems fair the way things have panned out, but at the time he was being talked about as a prospective England call up candidate. We couldn't afford refuse their offer anyway given our circumstances but he was worth more than the alleged £4.5M that they paid.

Ramsey was a giveaway. Wenger must have been laughing all the way to the bank when he took him off us. Again we were between a rock and a hard place, and the deal was done to keep us afloat if you accept the official view.

Other than that, we allowed players to walk - noteably Ledley, Mathews, Burke and Bothroyd. No great loss with any of them as it's turned out, but we should have tied them down for a fee not let them just walk away.

As for PR bringing in the investors, he didn't. He actually appointed Keith Harris as a director to do just that. Paid him for two years at a six figure salary for bugger all until TG and VT turfed him out. The present owners were not brought in by Ridsdale. TG offered to get involved because of his son's presence at the club and introduced Vincent Tan as the principle investor.

In fact, it was Ridsdale himself that nearly ruined the whole deal by his obstinence over the ridiculous value he placed on his personal share holding at the club at the time.

It was only when Steve Borley personally went to Malaysia to calm the waters and resurrect the deal that eventually got VT involved again and faced Ridsdale down.

The rest is history and Ridsdale walked with a lot less than he was demanding.

Other than that, Ridsdale's time at the club was probabaly worthwhile after the Hamman years and fiasco over the stadium if only for overseeing it's construction.

We needed someone with a strong character at the time, but he had no personal wealth to invest. Instead he used the borrowing tool with dubious organisations like Ranson's PFF to keep us going.

In hindsight it worked, but it would have all gone horribly wrong if the present owners hadn't got involved - and that was nothing to do with Ridsdale.

    Good summary Sparks.

If only some of the numpties on the other message boards could read (doubtful) and understand (bloody impossible) it then the world would be a much simpler place. <ok>

"It" as you put it hasn't changed much since my teens. Doesn't get as much activity now but it is still comfortable in itself. I don't have a pet name for it although a former friend of mine called his "it" Sebastian. Always had doubts about him.

Regretably my age changes with each passing year and will click up another notch in just over a month.

Well done lad for sharing your views I can wholeheartedly say you and I are in the same boat on the Ridsdale front without him we might not have our new stadium and our fantastic new red shirts (no sarcasm intended)
