Awful day for refs today all around. Not necessarily wrong decisions but inconsistent decisions Red cards for Palace & Sunderland / Penalty for goons No red card for Rooney for punching Mutch This is the case every time, better teams get the rub of green and lesser teams pay for it!
I didn't see all hear about it, but after what's been said the past week it would have been ironic lol
Think that was a penalty, but Wes brown should not have been sent off, he got the ball first,no contact with Adam,he hurdled the tackle.and it was'nt a two footed tackle, and why was the palace player sent off?,another rubbish decision
Refereee's never get it right if they give a decision against you! I always remember when I first started going to SB there was a legend of a referee called Jack Taylor! He was refereeing an Arsenal v Everton game and awarded one of them a penalty (I cant remember which) and one of the players said " That was never a penalty ref!" and Taylor replied " Yes it was, and if you dont believe me, just read the papers in the morning!"
guess you opened your gob too soooon! Rooney's non red when 0-0, remember rooney's punch on McCarthy in the very recent past now that is CONSISTENT inconsistency for Moanu!! We are a great team who get few marginal decisions here and there!! You are made a good team with ALL those horrible decisions for decades!! on Sky, Gary Neville says "It is a good decision made by the ref". Everyone agrees it is a good decision for Moanu and just not a correct decision. and justice is served when I was typing this update - Kim scores his first league goal
how many teams get penalty if their shirt is pulled down?? heck when Villa didn't get a penalty when their shorts were pulled down by Spuds leftback!! just noticed Vertongen looks awfully like AvB !!
So you're actually moaning that they aren't given more often rather than it not being a penalty? Given that it WAS a clear penalty?
If the only argument against criticising the the standard and inconsistency of referees is that the complaint is partisan then why bother reffing a match at all? Lets have Ultimate Cage Soccer, I'm sure US telly would love it. It is clear that the professional game is beyond the abilities of unaided human adjudication. You can have two refs, six on the line, four behind the goal and all you'll get is even more undivided opinion. If we continue with a ref, two assistants and a fourth in the stands, partisanship aside two officials on any given incident and any given time can have two diametrically opposed opinions, based and a couple of seconds memory of high speed action. It can not work and everyone has to accept it unless there is unanimous call for radical change. Meanwhile the opinions of the fans over incidents will always vary, and so long as everyone realises that nothing official will be done to correct glaringly bad or poor decisions, then there is no need to get overly worked up about it.
