Thankfully the right result happened yesterday but having been victims of the bias refereeing at WHL last season I can relate to the frustrations Norwich fans must have felt. Arsenal were victims in October when Van Der Vaart was seemingly allowed to juggle the ball before kicking it in the net (perhaps assuming the ref had blown his whistle). And inexplicably a penalty was awarded to Spurs when Bale attempted a five star frog splash which could have cost Arsenal Liverpool with some harsh dismissals as well. Thankfully the right call was made when they played United. WHL is however slowly gaining the same reputation for dodgy officiating as Old Trafford. On that display, I don't give Blackburn a prayer when they play them, same with Fulham. Maybe a ploy by the FA to get in bed with Arry but if you ask me the refereeing at WHL and favouritism shown towards Spurs is notable. The only game where justice was perhaps carried out was in the Stoke game where Kaboul was rightly sent off for continually kicking lumps out of Stoke players whilst Stoke were trying to get it on the deck and play football, Adebayor was wrongly called offside but by then Stoke's GK had stopped playing. It didn't quite atone for the penalty Spurs got for the Modric dive. Let's just hope we get a fair ref against Spurs on Sunday and reach the FA Cup Final. I am sure we can do it, just a slight observation and concern I had. I'm sure RDM will drill this into the players and warn our players about Bale. Kaboul may be out which is a lift, no player wants to play with somebody like that hacking you down every second, especially with Barca round the corner. COYB!
I'm certainly no Spurs fan but is this a serious article DL? The officiating in that Stoke game was laughable though more through incompetence that any bias. The sad fact is that all of the top six or seven clubs, particularly at home, get far more decisions unfairly for them than against.
He knows perfectly well the stoke game was a joke. It was the same ref that f**ked up their game with QPR
DL you forgot when Walker handballed in the box against Fulham But to set the record straight on the Stoke game, there was no whistle until after Ade had scored, if you look up the picture Foy has his back to the lino. Foy also missed the handball by Crouch to control the ball for the opener, Huth elbowing the ball off the line, Kaboul missing out on a blatant penalty and subsequently getting his first booking for suggesting the ref/lino needed glasses(See: picture left). I wouldn't accuse him of bias so much as incompetence though. We also didn't have luck against City when Lescott and Balotelli were able to stay on the pitch after GBH on our players, the Chelsea(home) game where Adebayor scored a legitimate goal that was ruled out for offside, the Wolves game where Ade had goal ruled out for offside, Man United where Adebayor had a goal wrongly ruled out for deliberate handball and a few more, I'm sure.
Fair enough YV. YV, Can you explain your freefall this season? Most of your big players are fit and playing.
Not really. We were soundly beaten by Arsenal and that was partly because we defended deep but our midfield were more pushed up and just being ****. United punished us in what was pretty much the only 3 chances they had all game, I didn't think we played badly though. We were a little unlucky against Everton, on another day we could've scored 3 or 4 in the second half but we just couldn't get the ball in the net. Chelsea again we maybe edged but I wouldn't say it was that clearcut but we were good in the second half particularly. Stoke was just an exaggerated version of the second half against Everton, 70% possession, 18 shots on target, 1 goal. Swansea we played very well other than about 15/20 minutes in the second half. Sunderland we came up against a brick wall and had no ideas or sense of emergency, we seemed pleased with a point. Norwich was total ****, we played as badly as we did at home against City, I don't think we ever had a period of control on the game. In short we could've had 4 or 5 more points but we've still not been good enough, not because of one main problem but because of a little of everything, wrong tactics, players in poor form, bad luck and a couple of injuries. They don't all apply to every game but each at some point has played it's part.
So one dodgy decision from the linesman makes it a disgrace? Behave! I disagree with this article but our game against Wigan was **** all compared to some decisions this season!
As were the two blatant penalties the referee bottled against Norwich although having a £10 0n 1-2 @ 14/1 I wasn't moaning
The first one was a pen but I disagree that there was much in the second. Anyway my point was that the decision was apalling one, nothing to do with our game or the rest of your game.
Well the pundits on MoTD said both agreed with me that King pulled the player down by his shirt, Fact and Adebayor pushed a player in the back to deny him a scoring chance whilst not having any chance of getting the ball himself. Professional foul penalty and a booking Fact. We can't all be you yid can we. you had a bad day at the office mate.....it happens!
