Is R East, and he's a relatively new buffoon for us both to have to contend with tomorrow. Overall this season 36 games, 100 yellow cards, 5 red cards. We've never had him. Ipswich had him for one game last season (Derby and they lost 2-0) Notable games this season: West Ham 4-3 Portsmouth - 2 red cards Leeds 0-5 Blackpool - 1 red card Brighton 2-2 Cardiff
As we've never had him I'll reserve judgement until after the game. Hopefully he won't be noticed; but more likely I'll be on this thread moaning about him tomorrow evening.
To be fair we have had hardly any red cards this season. I don't think the problem has being referee's being needlessly against us this season, its the fact they are consistent for neither side and are intent on breaking the game up so often for no need, when play could continue. Thats the issue.
Other than when it was an incorrect decision to give a freekick against us in the first place I can't think of a single yellow card I've seen us get this season that shouldn't have been under the current rules. It's been more a case of them not giving the opposition cards they should have done.* And Dawson I'm amazed doesn't get more yellow cards than he does. He seems to pull the opposition player's shirt more often than he makes a clean tackle, and despite doing it every week he somehow manages to act shocked when the free-kicks are given against him. *EDIT: At least in the games I've seen and the replays I've seen of incidents in other games. I can't obviously comment on bookings I haven't seen anything of.
agreed. he cannot be any worse than Attwell was. be thankful its not chris foy or martin atkinson,,, ffs.
Shall we have the McLean at Derby debate again? I just think referees have a desire to book our players for ridiculously inconsistent things. Against Leeds Attwell kept his cards in his pocket for ages and I liked that, he then booke Clayton for throwing King to the floor as he would have been straight past him, fair enough. Then minutes later he booked someone on our left side for something really daft (I can't even remember what now, but it didn't compare to the sheer professionalism of Clayton's foul) There have been loads that have annoyed me this season, I can't think of much at the moment because my mind is just full of the image of Attwell giving free kicks to Snodgrass every 5 seconds. There'll probably be a couple today, there always is.
I give up on football now it's ****ing pointless, 3 penalties we should have had that were clear as day, Delaney should have been sent off twice, then they go and get a penalty for absolutely nothing? I didn't see anything happen... Anyway ****ing stupid game don't see the point in it while referees are involved they're always **** and gift teams results as and how they like. If anyone's interested in a season ticket for the rest of the season get in contact
I thi.k the penalty might have been right - McLean tried an overhead kick and clouted their player - but what annoyed me was that he didn't give a **** about penalties when McLean and Fryatt were brought down, then suddenly he's all interested in penalties when they want one.
Exactly my point and exactly why I can't be bothered with it anymore, I'm fed up of wasting good days travelling all over the country to watch referees have a power trip and ruin games, just a completely pointless waste of time IMO. You're supposed to enjoy football but all I do nowadays is get infuriated by useless refs that decide to change the outcome of games whenever they like then it puts me in a bad mood for the rest of the day. It's a sad state of affairs but enough is enough now, I'm just going to watch results from home.
FFS - I thought it had to be intentional, deliberate foul play. No doubt there is some rule somewhere that tw4ts like this ref remember and then can justify quite irrational decisions made over the game as a whole. I thought Ipswich were probably better 2nd half but couldn't see them scoring until the ref gifted them that 1st one.
Sort of agree with the sentiments. Some of these sad sacks too often become the focal point of the game. Apparently there's been an over the line goal at Bolton for QPR chalked off because one of the clueless ones bottled it. Infuriating to say the least. Those extra 2 points would have helped.
He wasn't that bad considering he had 2 lobotomised slugs as assistants. Useless the pair of them, linesmen need to start flagging up fouls and disagreeing with the ref if they had a better vantage point.
