Coventry and their Greek opponents had two players each sent off, but after the first two red cards, one for each side, the ref allowed them to be replaced! A BIT BIZARRE?

In one sense the whole point of the game is for both teams to get to use their tactics and gain 11v11 experience there's little good playing 10v10. Very sensible decision I think remembering the point of the friendly and reducing it to being useless for both sides.

Well I suppose if you are going to break the rules regarding the number of subs allowed, you may as well allow all other laws to be broken, though I fail to see how allowing thuggery to affect the game is helpful at all. Part of pre-season is teaching discipline, which should include not getting yourself sent off!

Thanks for that little sermon Dave. :emoticon-0105-wink:

(At least the Ref in the Bastia game told the managers to take the players off before he red-carded them!).

I've seen that done in friendlies before and imo that's a much better way to deal with it!
