After the Middlesbrough match i want to see how the referee and linesman does in each game to spot the culprits and give them ratings. who was the ref in this game? i give him 7/10 and give the linesman 3/10.
I was at the Riverside and thought that the ref let Middlesbrough away with far too many niggling fouls. During the second half several Watford players were regularly getting kicked and the ref seemed happy to let it go on. It was probably a game where we could have done with John Eustace to even things up a bit.
I would give the lino a slap to wake him up and a big dose of reality and I would give the referee some verbal and the number of a good optician. Both Boro's full backs should have been. Poked and Bennett can count himself lucky to still be on the pitch. The premiership refs won't let you tackle that late and with studs leading!!
I am a qualified referee. That non-decision that lead to the goal would have been embarrassing in a Jersey v Guernsey match but in a match that is in the second level of professional football in a major footballing nation is unbelievable (after the ghost goal, I suppose anything is possible by officials). pete, if that ref was that lenient to Boro, JE probably would've been sent off! Lloydinio, the video would only have been used for the goal NOT the fouls being given/let go. Also, your initial thread ignores the other assistant completely - what mark would you give him?
Lets rate the Leeds ref. I a kind guy, so I'll only rate him -9999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999 out of 99999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999. Thats 9999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999 more that everyone else would give.
I think in league games we should just replace linesmen with goalline technology, and referees with very severe retrospective punishments for players found to have cheat or otherwise broken the rules. The FA could retain the option to appoint referees for matches where they believe the incentive to cheat outweighs the fear of punishment (particularly at the end of a season). Sure, there'd be a couple of weeks where the average team will have a dozen players suspended, but after a short sharp shock the game would be much better. And sure, we'd still have diving, arguments over throw ins etc, but at least the acting would be more convincing.
I was thinking of my image. Do i look mad/crazy or just a dedicated fan?? I dont want to be a laughing stock afterall
You look like i suspect we all look, a fan...trying to make a point. Though most of us stay put to do it ...but no hon, not a laughing stock, not in any way
