Just seen this article on the EDP website - http://www.edp24.co.uk/sport/norwic...hampionships_team_of_the_tournament_1_4135385. He certainly played a pivotal role in getting us back to the PL and under AN's coaching, he is becoming more of a threat to opposing teams. Let's hope he stays and continues to develop next season.
Excellent recognition for the young man. He really does seem to be blossoming under AN. He may, of course also made progress under NA, I was in no way being critical, it is that youngsters develop at different speeds. Unfortunately this recognition could bring unwanted attention from the more powerful clubs. But he does not strike me as a Stirling type so hopefully he will stay with us at least for this season.
I've a good mate who comes from Birmingham and his Mum and Mrs Redmond used to work together and they met at a funeral a few weeks ago. Nathan's Mum was saying how happy he is at Norwich, so hopefully he will fend off his agent's wishes and still be plying his trade in yellow and green next season!!!
I also hope he stays, whilst he has performed well for the U21's for a while, it has only been recently that I think he has shown signs that he really could live up to his early promise. I really think that has allot to do with AN guidance. I think and hope that this could be a real break through season where he really starts to positively influence games on a consistent basis. I hope he will also have seen how things have turned out for a number of young players who have moved to the big boys and found a spot on the bench at best before loan spells and an eventual drop to a lesser light. Minutes on the pitch under a good manager is what he needs and that's what we can give him. Sounds like a good lad and hopefully Mum knows best! Bah!
I've always been confident that he has the ability to become a top player, I also believe that Alex Neil has helped his progress. What worries me is how many top teams can also see this and how long can the two of them resist the lure of a huge upward step!
Indeed there is only so long that we can keep any wanted player or manager with so many teams that could double their wages at the drop of a hat! Bah!
I don't umagine AN will be in a massive hurry to jump ship and start earning some big money, he's potentially got another 30 years in management so plentyof time for that sort of thing.
AN, and Redders to a lesser (not fewer),extent seem pragmatic and willing to learn. Both will learn more at a team like Norwich than by being catapulted into a top team. They both have plenty of time to Improve and accrue the riches from the top table. Paul Lambert, Scott Sinclair et.al. spring to mind of people progressing only to fall by the wayside. At least, tempoarily.
