This article by the 'not everyone's cup of tea' ReadNorwich certainly think so and they do make some valid points.
Maybe the only way to stop the more poisonous element of our fan base getting on his case would be to reintroduce Steven Whittaker into the fray - or reinstate Russ Martin at CB? <yikes> <laugh>

The criticism he gets is pretty fair as far as I'm concerned. He hasn't reached his potential, spends far to much of games just sauntering about and not getting involved. He should use his pace to get into the penalty box and win us some spot kicks. Gary O'neil at least puts in effort and shows commitment, is a better passer and tracks back and tackles.

For me it's just that more often than not he looks like he doesn't want to be here.
Every player has off games, but as long as they show commitment, on we go.
Redmond just doesn't look interested most of the time

Pretty much agree that he needs to take on defenders more, as not that many are particularly fast. He got the penalty against 1p5wich in the play off and who can forget his goal at Wembley, though do agree he needs to be more involved in every game when he plays.
I think AN needs to sit down and have a 'wee word' with him to improve his overall contribution to the team - he can do it for the under 21s!!!!
O'Neill has been quite disappointing this season IMO - especially his sending off against Stoke.

Biggest problem I have with Redmond is his seeming lack of urgency in getting back to help his full back out when we lose possession. Sorry to mention it, but his predecessor, Snodders, was good at that side of the role, getting back, making challenges, breaking play up before the flimsy back line could be breached. Redmond would be a far more 'complete' winger if he could add more of that to his game <ok>

Have to agree Pablo. been saying that for some time.
Perhaps the fact that no one that we know of made an offer for him in the transfer window indicates that other clubs and managers see the same lack of commitment and application that we do. Shame he could have been a real legend for us!

I think he still can be - his head has dropped for whatever reason and if he can start by running very fooking fast around defenders again which is his talent, the crowd might get behind him a bit more and give him the boost to keep on doing the same (and hopefully better, including running back fast too, not sauntering)

I think what that article lacks is a comparison to the Murphy's, probably because it really doesn't help the case for Redmond. Josh is notching figures comparable if not better than Redmond did last season (more goals, fewer assists), but in the surroundings of a relegation fighting side rather than one challenging for the autos. Jacob is also flying, albeit at a lower level.

Redmond had a fantastic spell at the end of the championship season, and at the beginning of this one. Stating he's our joint top scorer is rather diminished when you factor in he hasn't scored since mid-October. If he could keep that form up then he's an asset, and hopefully a return to an attacking ethos from Neil will help him, but he still flatters to deceive for me.
