QPR boss Harry Redknapp says he would happily sell Loic Remy if the club received a big-money offer for him.

The French striker has scored 10 goals in 17 league appearances while on loan at Newcastle, whose manager Alan Pardew wants to sign him on a permanent basis.

Redknapp has previously made it clear he is not overly keen for Remy, signed from Marseille for £8m a year ago, to return to Loftus Road.

Chairman Tony Fernandes thinks differently and the Rangers board are minded to leave the door open for Remy to come back should the club be promoted back to the top flight.

But Redknapp said: “That’s all ifs and buts. You’ve got to get there first, and if someone came and offered £15m or £16m for him I’d sell him if it was my choice but it’s not, it’s down to the chairman.”

Remy moved to QPR in January 2013.

Remy, 27, held talks with Pardew before deciding to sign for QPR rather than Newcastle last January.

He joined on the understanding it could help him secure a move to a top English side if he impressed, so his summer departure following Rangers’ relegation was inevitable.

Discussions over a possible permanent transfer to Tyneside for Remy are expected to take place this month, with the R’s suggesting an £8m buyout clause in the player’s contract will no longer apply by the time his season-long loan expires.

Pardew has therefore described a potential deal as “complicated.”

Redknapp added: “I don’t know what the deal is. You’d think they’d want to snap him up, wouldn’t you? If they don’t then someone else will.

“For what we got him for, he’s probably worth double that now. He’s scored goals in the Premier League again this year.”

Everyone who said it at the time was correct and plenty of people suggested there was a time limit/clause invalidated if we went up, Newcastle could also still have agreed a fee in the loan contract.

Everyone who said we will only get £8m, had no idea what was written in the contract !!

I know we do some daft things, but, common sense would tell you QPR wouldn't write a contract that potentially limited any upside. A large percentage of football contracts, are written with addons, based upon appearances/promotion/sell ons/etc.

Clauses are often put in contracts because its the only reason the player would sign. Every single player in spain has a release clause for example, even Messi which is just over £200m.
Weve really lucked out with the time limit/expiring relegation clause and the trial if this is the case because Im sure hed have gone for £8m if there wasnt a chance he could be locked up.
£8m was the figure widely circulated at the time.

Not bad businees though if we can sell Remy for £16 million now in January and use this to bring in players needed now to get us promoted.

I know, which is why I stated every player has it.

The benefits are obvious, We wouldnt have signed Remy without one and Liverpool wouldnt have signed Suarez.

There is no way that this wasn't agreed with Fernandes. A come and get him call but he will cost you £15m. At long last we would make money on a player.

Maybe TF knows the bird who went to the :police:

    /s

The charge stopped the release clause being triggered, now he either gets banged up or we get double that so its a real double or nothing situation.

No other club would gamble £8m on a player who could be in prison in a few months.

So for us, we either double our money, keep him and play him or hes banged up.

Well you'd be mad not to want to keep him, he has proven himself. However he has stated that he misses Champions League football, he isn't going to get that with us, it would take a discussion between Harry and him but if he doesn't want to be here it makes perfect sense to get rid of him for the right money.

So call me mad but I don't want players who don't want to be here.:emoticon-0175-drunk
