I'd take him on a free as 3rd or 4th choice striker for a couple of months, as long as we get another in to be ahead of him.

certainly a handfull and knows where the goal is.

I think he's vaguely aware that it's located somewhere on the football pitch, though I'm not certain of this.

I believe that this has the potential to work and here's why: Cole plays up front - however HR opt for 6 midfielders with 3 defenders. the midfielders are given instruction to shoot on site or pass to each rather than pass to cole. Cole however, will take away the opposing centre halves...either that or they will be laughing so hard they ignore him leaving the midfielders to pass through to goal.

At least I hope that's what would happen. I mean, if west ham have no strikers and don't wantto play cole than why da fook would we?

    From the Telegraph -

'Carlton Cole’s contract expires after the game against Newcastle on Jan 18 and Queens Park Rangers manager Harry Redknapp has confirmed he is interested in taking the 30-year-old to Loftus Road.'

18th Jan eh? Pencil him in

Harrys not interested in Cole anymore HURRAH

"Harry Redknapp has dismissed speculation linking him with a move for Carlton Cole. The QPR manager is after a striker, but doesn't expect it to be Jermain Defoe or Harry Kane".

Probably means Cole will be coming

I'd actually quite like to see him sign on a 6 month deal, extended by a year if we don't go up, I was a bit disappointed we didn't get him when he was free in the summer. When West Ham beat us at Loftus Road last year, I thought he was excellent, he put himself about, held the ball up well and brought others into it.

The way we play at the moment, with just the one up front, we need someone that can do that. I know this might not be a popular opinion but he'd be a much better choice for that sort of role than Austin. Charlie has his qualities, he gives his all and can definitely finish, however, his overall play is not great, he doesn't hold the ball up and allow the wide players to get forward beyond him and I believe this is one of the reasons we aren't scoring goals at the moment (that and the fact that everyone is frightened of us and plays 10 men behind the ball). Austin could double his scoring rate with a partner like Cole alongside him but if Harry continues to play just one up, Cole would be a better option.

Sam Allardyce has said they are in talks to extend Cole's contract. Fingers crossed he agrees it, really don't want him here!
