Redknapp trying to persuade duo to make move to QPR

    by West London Sport
Harry Redknapp accepts he may be fighting a losing battle to persuade Porto defender Rolando to move to QPR.

Rangers have made previous attempts to lure the Portugal international, both since Redknapp’s appointment as boss and while Mark Hughes was manager.

But he is reluctant to sign and the same applies to Toulouse’s Etienne Capoue – another of the many high-profile players the club have tried to capture.

“Rolando is a good player, but actually landing them is another matter,” said Redknapp.

“Capoue is a top player – an outstanding footballer. Whether we could get him here, it would be difficult.”

Redknapp also confirmed he does not want Anton Ferdinand to leave Loftus Road until Rangers bring in a centre-back.

West London Sport reported this week that Redknapp is reluctant to part with Ferdinand despite claims a loan deal had been agreed with Turkish club Bursaspor.

“I can’t let anybody go unless we get players in. It’s impossible,” said Redknapp.

“We need to strengthen, not weaken, so I can’t even think about letting anybody leave unless we get some replacements.”

Meanwhile, Redknapp has insisted that goalkeeper Julio Cesar is not for sale.

Harry reveals 'nightmare' week at QPR[/h]Jan 25 2013 By Paul Warburton
QPR boss Harry Redknapp reckons he has had a 'nightmare week' trying to sign new recruits.
According to the gaffer, no fish are biting, and even his wife is giving him stick.
“I haven’t been home for 12 days,” he said. “My wife said the other day, what do you look like? I said I look like Paul Newman. She said, in my dreams.
Redknapp (pic) has made enquiries for a host of players including Portuguese defender Rolando, a potential replacement for the imminent departure of Ryan Nelsen, as well as French midfielder Etienne Capoue, but insists no-one else has thrown their hat in the same ring as £8m Loic Remy, signed last week.

The manager added: “I’ve been travelling all over the place. Every day’s been flights everywhere, but it’s difficult to land anybody.
“You think you’ve got somebody and then you haven’t – and that’s the way it’s gone.”
However, the Rs supremo clearly had time to take in the League Cup semi-final that saw neighbours Chelsea exit at the hands of Swansea – since infamous over the ball boy incident that landed Blues midfielder Eden Hazard in hot water.
The Belgian was alleged to have kicked out at Charlie Morgan, although Redknapp branded the 17-year-old an ‘idiot’.
He added: “As he (Hazard) kicked the ball, he toe-poked it from under the boy.
“Why was he lying on it? Imagine the frustration. You’re trying to get to a cup final, and there’s this kid behaving like an idiot.
“The whole thing got blown out of all proportion. I can think of a few players that would have kicked harder than what he did.
“He was tweeting yesterday that he was a super timewaster. I thought it was disgusting the way he behaved.”

I totally agree with 'Arry, he says it as it is - that so called 17 yr old "kid", Charlie Morgan, son of a Swansea director, is indeed a complete idiot. I say good on Hazard for attempting to get the ball free and get on with the game. We'd say the same too if this was say Adel. Ridiculous the path officials go down with FA hearings, police reports, reviewing complaints, eyewitness statements etc, when in reality it was all just good clean fun.

From what I've read about this Morgan chap, he seems a pretty unpleasant individual whose sole claim to relevance is the wealth and privilege bestowed by his father. By and large you get the kids you deserve.

    Agree re. the Swansea brat.

As for (even) 'Arry's chances of getting quality in under our circs, this was all too obvious from the outset. Wrote as much in a thread that wasn't very well received. Bit of a TYS moment unfortunately.
