Redknapp says he's sure he'd have kept QPR up, and he'll be back soon

Redknapp says he's sure he'd have kept QPR up, and he'll be back soon

Harry Redknapp likes speaking to the media but it's not often he pops up with exclusive interviews in Italy. The manager, who left QPR a couple of weeks ago, has been speaking to Tuttomercatoweb and mainly spoke about his two former clubs Tottenham Hotspur and QPR.
On the latter, Redknapp explained that he feels he did a good job with the club but doesn't regret leaving, he also said he'd have kept QPR up, which may be putting a little pressure on those who took over the reigns from him - but then Redknapp has done that consistently throughout his managerial career. QPR actually managed to get a result away from home recently, something they couldn't do under Redknapp and his comments about being sure he'd keep them up are more than a little generous to himself.
Speaking to Tuttomercatoweb, Redknapp said "We were promoted last season, I led the team to the Premier League... and I'm sure we would have kept them in the division at the end of the season. I have no regrets, I decided to leave, no one told me to do it, it was just my decision down to physical complaints. I struggle to stand up due to the knee problems, I also limit the work. How old am I, after all? However, there is one thing of which I am sure: I hope and I want to get back in the race soon. I always have a great desire, that never goes away."
Redknapp's inevitable return to football may not be a path his family will be thrilled with him taking. Leaving QPR a few weeks before his 68 birthday fit in with what perhaps should be retirement. Should the manager work again in England then it's likely to be a huge pressure role and come with everything that brings. However, if he's sure he'd have kept QPR up then he's certainly still confident in his own ability.

Redknapp needs to get some work done between the ears. He didn't get us back .......... Zamora did and over that given year, we played anything but well.
We were extremely lucky .......... point blank.
This year has been more of the same ............ boring, lackluster and poor signings.

If he sincerely thinks he's done well, he's lost me. Ramsey and the players have it all before them, no thanks to Harry.
I used to be one of his biggest supporters, not anymore. Enjoy retirement Harry and stop talking crap.

Quite sad really. If he does return it won't be at a premiership club, best he can hope for is a small national team somewhere.

Hasn't had his knee op yet then by the sound of it. Perhaps he's on an NHS waiting list.

Or ........... perhaps his knees aren't as bad as he made out they were .............. possibly pushed out then.
Either he spat the dummy ( no funds during transfer window ) or TF saw the light.
    Probably both.

    Dreadful human being
    As for his knees
Hasn't stopped him playing golf at Studland near his home ... Mrs DT has a house near Corfe locals say he has been seen jumping around like a spring lamb ... Sure there will be some press on this soon

We got up by luck just and it was a great day If we fall then no regrets as our club is together again

Well, if that is the case, he's full of it.
I love my golf but have had five knee operations, including two full knee reconstructions.
I think I can talk from experience and say if he can play golf, then his knees aren't too bad at all.
I can't get anywhere near a golf course.

He went though a year too late. So good luck to him. Hope he convinces himself so.

The answer as to whether he would have kept us up is simple. We will never know, just like with Warnock. We though as fans can have opinions and mine is that he would have taken us down

Oh my gawd, massive face palm <doh> Please stop talking Harry, you are embarrasing yourself.

I won't take away from him that he took/got us back up. The team we had was a lot poorer than people give them credit for. To take a club back up from relegation IS a big achievement regardless of the circumstances.

He would definitely have taken us down though, of that I'm 100% certain of.

It's not his fault. He relies on others to tell him if his knees are giving him pain

Arry said a lot of thing when he was in charge of us too.

Unless he's spent his convalescence drinking truth serums then I'd take this about as seriously.

He is hardly likely to say, "Actually they were rubbish. We were going down and it was all my fault", is he?!
Harry's main problem is that the media won't leave him alone.
Therefore, perhaps this should be the last 'Arry thread. After all, we no longer have threads about Mark 'Sparkless' Hughes do we?
