It also sheds new light on Bale joining. Before, most of us assumed we were going for a well-known hot property - here it underlines that Comolli took credit for the work one of our scouts did to convince him to join us.
Hmm, well, yeah but you'll have to bear with my scepticism of a story containing no quotes or substantiations and which comes from the goal.com website. Anyway - I don't think that Comolli not being responsible for Berba's signing changes my opinion of his work (or that of Jol's) one little bit. He made Bent and Bentley our two most expensive signings ever when if there were two positions covered in the team it was striker and right wing! And he bought a LOT of crap/unnecessary players for a lot of money.

As far as Harry goes, yes mistakes have been made, clouded judgement some say, but he has had a mentally exhausting time since his heart attack, I've not seen this taken into consideration too much. Maybe the stubborn ox needs a rest aswell as our fullbacks.
