http://sport.stv.tv/football/clubs/...-to-agree-deal-for-proven-scorer-gary-hooper/ Video on there where harry says its all agreed and that its hopefully nearly all done, although PB has been the one communicating with Celtic. Not sure if he means the transfer fee is agreed or the whole thing.
sorry i only get news about us mainly on this page. is this old news or has this now changed because harry has come out and said this. even more importantly could we be getting a striker in on a thursday
This is not old news, just out. Queens Park Rangers manager Harry Redknapp has told STV that a deal to sign Celtic's Gary Hooper is almost done and that he hopes he is signing the Championship's next top scorer. Celtic accepted a bid of just under £5m from QPR for Hooper on Wednesday afternoon and the player is close to completing a move to Loftus Road. Redknapp said that he had been tracking Hooper's progress for the player's whole career and had seen him prove his credentials as a striker during his time under Celtic boss Neil Lennon. "It’s all been agreed," Redknapp told STV. "I’ve not been dealing with it but the chief executive and the chairman have been dealing with Celtic. "Hopefully we’re close to finally getting there but until it’s done you’re never sure. " He’s a player we’ve been chasing for a while and now we’ve agreed a deal with Celtic. "We’ve followed him from his days at Gray’s Athletic to Southend to Scunthorpe. Then he’s gone and scored goals at the highest level with Celtic. "So he’s proved that he’s a goalscorer and hopefully he can score some goals in the Championship now." QPR were relegated from the English Premier League last season but Redknapp said that he was optimistic that Hooper's goals could win the Rs promotion from the Championship at the first time of asking. If that was achieved, the veteran manager said he wouldn't rule out Hooper achieving his international ambitions with England ahead of next year's World Cup. "I would love to see him being leading goalscorer in the Championship and hopefully that would mean us being promoted," he added. "If he came here and was a prolific scorer then you never know [about an England call]. We’re not overloaded with great strikers in England, that’s for sure, and everyone’s looking for a good goalscorer."
Welcome to the forum Southwick. I'm starting to worry that Hooper is being built up too much. Should he sign, let's try not expect too much from him too quickly.
i love the way Harry has to always mention that he has nothing to do with the business side of things. Its alright Harry we all know you will be getting your brown paper bags worth round the back of the training centre
He can fire the bullets but we need someone to load the gun! Creative midfielder is now a priority...
Redknapp: "...He’s...scored goals at the highest level with Celtic... So...hopefully he can score some goals in the Championship now." Hilarious.
