Dutch media report that Harry Redknapp wil be attending the match Nac Breda - FC Twente on sunday. Speculations are that he is in the stadium to watch Bryan Ruiz, the Costa Rican attacking midfielder/striker of Twente, number 2 in the Eredivisie last season. Twentes price tag is allegedly 10 to 12 million euro.
I don´t actually know how to make a link but its on www.voetbalprimeur.nl Scroll down to the message posted at 8:44.
Warning people- it translates very badly into English. But the content is there - 'Arry apparently did go there.
Google translates as: "Redknapp to the stands for strong Ruiz ' Tottenham Hotspur this weekend sitting in the stands for Bryan Ruiz. Coach Harry Redknapp the live game between Manchester City and FC Twente at. Especially for the attacker to work. The Telegraph reports that Ruiz in the picture as a reinforcement for Tottenham Hotspur, the club of Rafael van der Vaart. Now Ruiz is back fully fit, the interest in the player from Costa Rica directly to. FC Twente would be a sum of fifteen million would receive Ruiz. Ruiz may need to be a departure from Tottenham Luka Modric absorb. The Croat is in the interest of Chelsea. The fact that Redknapp will now look at the attacker himself, gives an indication that the interest of the Spurs is concrete. FC Twente took Ruiz in 2009 for 4.5 million euros from AA Gent. The club is at a possible sale of the attacker in each case an amount received 10-12000000. Part of the selling price, the club which is to cede to the former employer of Ruiz. Doesn't read very nicely, but I hope its true.
Ruiz is a great player, but it is strange that he is mentioned as a replacement for Modric as he plays more upfront as attacking midfielder or striker.
So he was at the toffees last night, will be at the lane tonight, and in Holland tomorrow. No wonder we aren't signing anyone, he's always on the move!!!
It doesn't make sense. They seem to be completely different players. Unless they mean that the sale of Modric will allow us funds to buy Ruiz, but I'm sure spurs can cough up £12m euro's by selling the deadwood.
Maybe its a different Twente player he wants to have a look at. Options are the Brazilian Douglas, who is a strong central defender, and Luuk de jong who is still very young but he will probably be the next Dutch top striker. These players would be interesting for Spurs. The rest of the players are probably not good enough.
Sounds more like a back-up for VDV than a Modric replacement. In other words, that means VDV is going to Chelsea and needs replacing ASAP. Or that wesbite is full of the brown stuff.
I'd have thought that he'd have been more of a replacement for Keane and/or back-up for Lennon, from what I've seen of him.
A back-up for lennon would be useful, as Bentley is on his way which from not featuring today I would guess to be the case.
Ruiz has suggested today that we've approached his agent and that he'd be honoured to line up alongside van der Vaart. I'm sure it was a totally legal approach, of course...
Yes, a winger/striker is a replacement for a deep-lying creative player. Are you desperate for attention tonight, DL? Knock it off.
