“I liked the look of us. The three lads in midfield looked strong and we look like we have plenty of ability,” he said. “I’m more optimistic than I was on Saturday, that’s for sure. We well deserved a draw and I was pleased with the performance. “I went for power in midfield with the two African boys. You wouldn’t want to play against those two. “Diakite came off after he was booked but looks like he could be a really good player for us. Mbia did well too and Granero can play, so there were good positives. “It’s going to be tough. We must not kid ourselves. When you look at the position we’re in it’s very difficult, but I can see there are some decent players here.”
Exactly The heading on Sky Sports News on my I Phone says "QPR held by Sunderland" and that just about says it all for me. I thought we were pretty darn good. Loads of effort, excellent movement and very very fluid. We flooded the midfield and broke with pace and purpose. Final ball not there yet but it will come. Was excited by how many of our players looked up and drove forward with the ball at feet. Very very positive. A win at the weekend and 4Pts from 2 games would be an excellent start.
As my thread earlier this week said, it was a 'difference of emphasis', the team played a positive game and dictated a lot of the play. Very encouraging, Saturday is going to be a ding-dong...
In the short time he has been in charge Harry has shown his credentials as a top class manager. Taken a broadside at the pussy-footers and non-tryers but also rewarded those who work hard. He has been quick to say there is a lot of potential at the club so as not to alienate everyone but emphasized that effort is what it is going to be about for the rest of the season. I can only hope that there is some sort of professional pride amongst the slackers and that they can see Harry is the real deal and is not a bullsh1tter. If you show him you care and can graft then your reward will be a place in the team and you might not be turfed out in January. Should the lazy sods in the squad not want to put a decent shift in Harry is the man to get rid.
I saw more energy from Harry in 5 mins of SSN that I did from poor old MH all this season. I think he will transfer that energy to the players and the fans. There will be a rocking atmosphere at HQ on Saturday. Also, as we all know really, the fact that QPR were 'held' by the home team puts us in the driving seat when they come to LR. They've lost their home advantage and hopefully we can capitalize on that. LR must become a fortress if we are to have any survival chance at all.
yep thats my worry sheff goals & can't see us scoring more than 2 in amy game at present untill we rectify that come jan. baring that the looked a bit bit more confident last night but still nervous at times.
