Redknapp backs QPR to end Newcastle run by Daniel Prince HARRY Redknapp says Queens Park Rangers are âquietly confidentâ of ending Newcastle Unitedâs winning run this weekend. Newcastle are hosting QPR at St Jamesâs Park on Saturday, and go into the game on the back of five wins in a row. QPR, meanwhile, are second-bottom in the Premier League, but have impressed in their last four games, including a 2-2 draw against champions Manchester City last time out. Redknapp has praised his counterpart Alan Pardew for the way he guided Newcastle through their early-season struggles, but insists he has full confidence his side can triumph on Tyneside. He said: âTheyâre playing well. Alan was under a bit of pressure like a lot of us come under when you lose a few games, but heâs come through it fantastic and theyâre bang in form. âTheyâre playing very well, but weâre playing well at the moment. âThe last four games weâve played well and we certainly should have a few more points on the board than weâve had the last four weeks. âWeâre settling in and players are starting to find their feet at the club. âWe bought a few new players in who took time to settle. âWe go to Newcastle in decent heart and weâre quietly confident we can go there and play well.â Redknapp already has half an eye on the January window as he bids to keep QPR in the Premier League. He told talkSPORT: âIf you are cut adrift at Christmas, you donât want to be going and getting yourself into trouble, but if we are still in there with a chance, which I think we will be, then the chairman will go out and let us get one or two players who could make the difference for us. âWe have got one or two targets, and are just waiting to see if we can get them over the line.â Meanwhile, Scott Sinclair â who has been linked with Newcastle in the past â says he is ready to reconsider his future at Manchester City in January. The forward has played just 22 minutes so far this season. He said: âIt has been very frustrating for the last couple of years. âI donât feel Iâve had the best of chances; I just want to get out there and show why City bought me, but Iâve not had that opportunity. âI made the decision to come to City and fight it out with all the big players and it hasnât really worked out this far. All I can do is re-evaluate in January and go from there.â
