I notice a shift of opinion on here in favour of getting Harry Redknapp in to save the season. Not saying everyone wants 'Arry but certainly a few more seem resigned to it than a week or two back.

Question keeps echoing around my head though. IF 'Arry did end up in the driving seat (big IF) where would that leave Taarabt? We all know he wasn't exactly Redknapp's cup of tea at Tottingham, so is there any likelihood that would change at Rangers?

Just scouting for opinion on this.

Redknap's no fool. He knows Adel is the heir to Stan & Rodders and a local legend (for some)

Also time has moved on and Adel seems far more composed this season than ever before and whilst there might be some bad feelings I would expect them both to rise above that. 'Arry (should he take over) would be forced to work with what hes got til Jan and even then I can't see a raft of new signings, maybe Defoe (on a Thursday natch) and maybe Dawson or similar

No he would have to take AT on as Adel would have to bury the hatchet with 'Arry

Interesting question but one I think Adel has answered himself by performances. Spurs let him go because them didn't believe they could get him to put a shift in, not because he wasn't talent enough, I think now he is starting to strike a balance, still work to be done but definitely on the way to becoming a lot more rounded Player (no pun intended).

Interesting as its MH who appears to have got rid of the petulant youngster and got him playing where both HR and NW failed.

I also think he's grown up a lot. They're still kids remember? We're all middle aged on here!

Really? He couldn't even manage a simple (alleged) tax scam without ending up in court and admitting to the world that he is functionally illiterate.

I asked this question on a Taarabt thread a couple of days ago. Some thought Adel would be sold on the cheap.

He got off though didn't he SB? I think a lot of his 'dopey' image is an act

When at spurs harry had the options of Bale, Lennon , Modric and van Der vart, or a young unproven talent subject to tantrums!
Look how far he has come since spurs and harry seeing that would accommodate him almost certainly.

Times have changed since then and so has Taarabt. Also, Taarabt happens to be one of our best players. He wasn't one of the best players at Tottenham around that time.

I'll confess to not rating him mate. Big reputation based on 2 4th place finishes and an FA Cup ( bankrupting the club in the process) in a 30 year managerial career. He must have something about him and I could see him taking the job if offered ( much closer to his beloved Sandbanks than Spurs) but I won't be dancing in the street.
Hughes seems intent on making TF look a fool, failing to deliver despite huge and very public backing. I'd guess he's got the next 2 games. My preference would be for us to start winning and keep Hughes, simply for the stability and lack of top class candidates out there (Benitez the exception, but I don't see him as a crisis manager), but if we're not winning.....
I took yesterday's performance badly, very few redeeming features.

Benitez would want mega bucks again and I think the last thing we need is another squad overhaul. I'm not sure I could take all that again.

Don't misunderstand me, I think 'Arry is as dodgy as they come however it cannot be denied that he is an excellent man manager / motivator and quite frankly thats precisely what we need at the moment. I would like to see him come in to keep us up this season whilst bringing on a younger protege.

With Hughes its the same issue I had with Sousa, he was too distant and aloof from the players. He is making TF look stupid though and open to ridicule which considering what he's done in a short time is a real shame. TF was crazy to tell the World that Hughes was a friend and that we've just been unlucky.

'Arry is really the Prem equivalent of Warnock albeit needing a facelift

If Harry thought Taarabt was not good enough for our team then maybe he would be right
If he came in and won games then who are we to disagree

I think Adel has come on a huge amount since he was at Spurs, and I fully expect he would be Harry's cup of tea now, as he is most people's cup of tea. Even Hughes likes him now!

I've said this before and will say it again. 'Arry has one more job left in him and that will NOT be at Loftus Road.

I've been pondering the exact same thing Brix. I have come to the conclusion that the time when Adel was at Spurs was a life-time ago in footballing terms. Back then, 'Arry had an array of talent at his disposal and a petulant, sulky kid who thought he was the finished article.
I like to think that 'Arry is savvy enough to recognise just how far Taarabt has come since his time at Spurs. He will also be aware that Adel is adored by the majority of the LR faithful and I'm not sure he would risk upsetting them right from the off by dropping/getting rid of their No10.

i don't agree. This is about the only job Harry would be interested in. None of the top clubs are going to need a new boss in the foreseeable future and he's not going to want to take a Championship job. Geographically, we're close enough to the south coast to make it viable for him. A squad full of top quality players, albeit underperforming and confidence shot to pieces, ambitious chairman, the team rooted in the relegation places. Almost exactly the position he walked into at Spurs.

I hope and think you are right, and more relevant I hope TF sees it. Harry isn't a long term solution which is a negative, but on balance I think his motivational ability and experience make him one of the best alternatives for the rest of this season, and next if he can keep us up. Longer term I'd prefer someone like Solskjaer, but for someone like him to come into the major crisis that is our Club now, and keep us up, is one hell of an ask.

Taarabt has grown up so much since hes been here (apart from when it comes to wanting FKs), hes directing players if someone goes on their blind side, hes gradually learning how to head the ball, hes chasing back to his own goal line to cover players and its not just about him any more, he wasnt happy the other day when he scored and we were losing, contrast that with cisse after he missed a pen but zamora scored, cisse was still gutted.

I think him and arry could work together, but I hope arry doesnt make it here.
