My tongue was in my cheek. My own feelings on the matter are that we should go with it, albeit with further discussion. What's rather alarming is the way it's all happened so quickly. One minute it's happening, the next it's been binned because they don't want to be seen as riding roughshod over tradition. The thing that botehred people most, as far as I could tell was the loss of the bluebird name. Play in red with a bluebird badge. A decent compromise I reckon.

****ing well-played 'vociferous opposition' ****s. ****ing dinosaurs.
Am also disappointed that they kowtowed to these ****s. I thought they had more back-bone than that.

Have you seen the racist threats and abuse they've taken? I'm convinced thats part of the decision. Obviously I can't prove that but if it was me, I'd have locked the gates and turned the lights off at CCS by now.

As wrong as it is, I am not in the slightest bit to read this as what was being proposed was a very emotive subject. I believe the proposal was "leaked" before it was completed and that, if true, is unfortunate. However, had these guys used their brains a little more, to not simply focus on the investment being offered, they could and arguably should have done some kind of consultation (perhaps with season ticket holders only) in the first place by letter to gauge the feeling before leaping in to a plan of action.

They will have learned a lesson here, I hope, and whether you guys like the U-turn or not, they will now stand back and see what else they can try to do. In my opinion that is a good idea and what they should have done before now - look at other possibilities and not get blinkered with one investment solution.

The very fact they believe they could offer just one solution with nothing to fall back on (judging by yesterday's statement there was no plan B) is an indication of their arrogance. They should a total lack of understanding about a percentage of supporters of the club (I would like to know what %age that was but I guess we will never know), and judging by a number of comments on here so have quite a few of your guys. The people that have voiced their negative opinions were right and entitled to do so, doesn't matter if you agree or not as you live in a democracy and that is how it works.

It may well have a been a good idea (I still have my reservation about that though) and they could have 'sold' the idea better if they had acted differently and warmed the fans to it before statements hit the press.

If they do decide to walk away it will not be the end of Cardiff City, of that I am certain regardless of how black a picture they are painting about the clubs current situation. If they stay and can find an alternative solution to the investment proposal and retain the identity of Cardiff City, then so much the better <ok>

Thai - As you said, the whole thing was leaked by somebody inside the club as soon as it was introduced to the club by the owners. The owners nor the club had a chance to discuss this with anybody. They were forced to respond to a pack of hungry wolves before having a chance to organise meetings or make a plan of action. This was a baby when he was jumped on.

We have no idea how it was going to be introduced to the club and supporters, and we will never know.

Thai, as siam says the proposals were leaked before anything had been finalised. They were just proposals, open to discussion and, from what I understand, a compromise had been reached in a further meeting to keep the Bluebird on the badge, albeit probably a redesigned badge but with the Bluebird none the less (one of the main objections). I'm fairly certain other aspects of the proposals would have been discussed and hopefully compromise found before the info was made public and possibly altered again after gauging the fans reaction.
I agree everyone has the right to either voice their support or objection to whatever the final package may have been. I guess we'll never know what that may have been now thanks, imo, to the over-reaction and hateful, racist, threatening remarks aimed at VT/TG and their families.
I'm concerned about our long term future (nothing really new there tbh) and I hope an alternative solution/agreement can be found. If new/partner investment can't be found, and lets be honest, they're not forming an orderly queue on Sloper Rd, I'm also concerned that players like Whitts, Mason etc may need to be offloaded to generate income which can only take us backwards.

    YAY, Victory!!

H, if this goes tit's up I think your short term problems are likely to be more of a concern. In a PM to Siam I suggested that if the worst came to the worst I still do not think Cardiff City will fold. There may be a few years of hardship and probably a stripping of assets (selling the high earning players and some backroom staff etc) and even going backwards in the football league before you can move forward again.

Should Cardiff go in to administration it does not necessarily mean disaster, in some cases it can work well - Southampton are a brilliant example. They overstretched themselves to try and stay in the PL and ended up with serious financial problems, look at the go now. Same with our club, saved from administration at the 11th hour and bottom of L1. Was probably the best thing that ever happened to us for many, many years <ok>

Calm down. I'm fully aware of the money they've pumped into the club. I'm one of the pragmatists who beleives that this should be considered carefully. I believe that the malaysians should engage in a dialogue with the fans and not just self appointed 'leaders who 'bleed blue' and all the rest of the cliche ridden crap they've been coming out with. You've misread the tone of my original post, which, was, I admit, misleading. I was under the impression that most people fans would be angry and upset, but I'm pleased to learn that they're not quite as one eyed as I'd feared. Having said that, I've only met a few who really do think 'hey, why not'. Most Iv'e come across are furious. But for how long? I really hope htere's a compromise and that red can be incorporated into the kit and badge. If that's all it takes to bring in 100 million then bring it on. As I've said, Im colour blind (really) and red looks crap against green. But I'll manage.

We has a discussion meeting at uni about the local area(swansea) and the thing sports bring into it ,now considering that about 70% of the attendance were not from the area and students here on their courses it was amasing to see the topic turn around to Cardiff City and the offer that was made to them ,no matter how hard the tutor tried to change the subject back to local it just kept eding up talking about Cardiff City .............shows how much and how many people are interested in this offer and its outcome .
