With Cardiff owners about the change the color of their home kit from Blue to Red, it just shows that some foreign investors just dont get football and some probably never will. Venkys at Blackburn clearly dont have a clue and basically they only have themselves to blame for Blackburn getting relegated. At Hull Nick Barmby was sacked for making comments to the media and what he said wasnt even that bad.

Now the Cardiff board are trying the change the whole clubs heritage by changing the shirt color. Luckily our owners havent tried to change any of the clubs heritage and hopefully they never try to but if they come out and said they wanted to play in red instead of blue next season how would you react? In america Red bull brought New york and changed the name to the New York red bulls. That would never work or be accepted in this country but no one has a problem with it in America

The owners have changed the stadium name but because it was sponsorship before hand people wasnt that bothered over them doing it. Had we still been at Filbert Street and they changed the name then the story would have been totally different.

As of yet i havent had any problems with what the owners have done with branding. Yes King Power is only practically everything but they are putting millions in its only fair they get some advertising from it

So how far can owners go at re-branding a club before they go too far?

I thought Cardiff's nickname was the bluebirds

Will they change that to Redbirds?

    It's crazy

@OliverKayTimes: If owners feel their club must wear red, representing good luck etc, then buy a club that wears red. Plenty out there

They would need a lifetime commitment to LCFC for them to do that here.

If they agreed to back us for say 50 years, then they can do what they want <ok>

But yes, there would be total outrage from 90% of the supporters.

They are backing cardiff fans in to a corner either we change to red and ditch bluebird and make you the dragons and pump money in or we will leave and you will go down the swanny admin blah blah blah , There are fans on there boards saying we dont have anything to lose and we have played in different colour before and if it saves the club then they all for it.

I just dont know if someone said we are nolonger the foxes and we will play in black or whatever I just feel it would rip the soul out of my club.

Things the owners can never change

    Name
    Home colours
Badge ( They could mess around with it but it has to have a fox on it and remain Leicester City Football Club)

Anything else people wouldnt want to owners to change?

    Kasper in goal <laugh><ok>

Oh and Managers, we need to have a run with 1 manager now, cause we've had 10 managers in as many years, lets get behind Pearson for at least 3 years <ok>

I think it's down to red being more popular in Malaysia as well as Wales. New nick name would be red dragons but it's really down to what the Cardiff fans want, if they don't mind then fair play to them.

WTF ? They´ve been blue for how long & then someone comes in & changes it to red. Top leave it, don´t even think about it.

I´d be very p***ed off if I was a Cardiff fan. They should have a fans vote on it if they insist on having these ideas. Don´t **** with history you clowns.

Heard a bit about this on the drive in to work ... the name 'Red Dragons' was being mentioned ... how serious to take it all I don't know .. other things mentioned:

Brighton's original nickname was 'the Dolphins' and apparently theu only changed to piss Palace off by Seagulls mimicking / mocking Eagles
Liverpool - Bill Shankly insisted they changed from traditional white shorts to an all-red kit
Burnley - changed to a claret & blue strip because Aston Villa were THE TEAM at the time and they wanted to emulate ..
Nottingham Forest settled for a red and white kit because the classier option of blue and white had already been taken by their illustriuos near neighbours (who they have always secretly cared about)

Now admittedly I may just have made one of the above up ... but bet you can't guess which? <whistle>

Perhaps we will have to change to a strip that makes the players look more like Foxes, like Hull's kit makes them look like tigers...apparently. Maybe a nice bright amber colour with a white v-shape on the chest? And perhaps Forest will have to play in brown and all players must dye there hair green?

Don't think the Cardiff fans would be happy about anything to do with Swans being involved, mind you the alternative is to become a southern version of Wrexham so there's not much difference.

Didn't Don Revie also change Leeds' kit to all white to emulate Real Madrid?
