Who the feck are the Red Division? First I heard of them about 6 months ago out of nowhere, they seem to be trying to take us back to the 70's and 80's for football violence?

So now we have the Palace Ultra's and Addick's Red Division???? Why??

    <cheers>

I know nothing other than the name. I think it's the trust when their angry. You won't like them when their angry.

I once had a 20p thrown at my face by a member of the Baby Squad. I was stood on the station platform and he, brave boy that he was, was standing on the bridge above. The coin embedded itself right between my eyes. When I took it out the blood started gushing, so I had to jam it back in until I could receive treatment.

I still have the scar to this day.

Indeed, TC. It takes pride of place in my display cabinet. You can find it alongside my Jim'll Fix It badge, my Blankety Blank cheque book and pen, and a signed photo of Rusty Lee.

You want to get it signed by Rusty.

My daughters used to attend a school where the headteacher was a real black-power-monger. We crossed swords many times over her penchant for political statements during assemblies and her use of 'dis' and 'dat' in official literature. The first time we disagreed, I was invited into her office and stopped dead in my tracks as I took in her choice of decor. On the walls were huge framed pictures of Malcolm X, Martin LK and Haile Selassie. This enraged me further, but(and this is true) all of a sudden my bitterness evaporated when I saw signed photos on her desk of Rusty Lee, Dave Benson-Phillips and the guy who played Porkpie in Desmond's.

I never took the woman seriously after that.

I actually know the guy who helped set them up. When he first said about it he said they are Ultras but since all I've heard is 'we are a group of charlton lads who want to make the atmosphere better not a firm' well I'm all for that but i think they are going about it in the wrong way and basically just copying what they've seen on youtube videos. Also there's a bit of copying Palace going on which is just shameful. I can tell you a few other things like their first game was at Wolves away and I believe they were the ones who brought the flares to Bristol City and Millwall

Thats a picture of them from Wolves. Now to me they just look like a 'firm' and if your gonna be walking around covering your faces at football games your simply asking for trouble.

Would call them animals but that is offensive to animals. Prats, why do it...you're right, they look exactly like a firm, I don't condone it, but having a few fans (millwall or whatever) beat them down a notch would do some good, as long as they don't try to retaliate

This is the first I've heard of them. It is not the greatest advert for our team but hopefully they will get bored before causing any issues. Turds.

As belv points out- copying palace ultras which is just a big no no. Allows for our club to be ridiculed.

You can have fun and make noise without giving yourself a cringe worthy name and making banners that looks like it was done by a year 3 primary school class.

As for them denying involvement with the flares? Clinton was more convincing.

They're the fools who've put the spotlight on CAFC for every hooligan firm in the division.

    Not nice.

To be honest Showoff, we have had the Palace Ultras, Cardiff have been and gone and of course the worst of all Barnsley have already visited so that leaves just Millwall and the Massive Club.

I can make a reasonable guess which will be the more expensive in police and repairs<ok>

They were definitely responsible for the flare at Bristol City but can't confirm if they were responsible for the Millwall flares. To me they do seem to be copying the Palace ultras. They advertise themselves as not a firm and just to improve the atmosphere at away games and they need to keep it at that.

Having a name, and having banners are two big no-no's. Makes you look like a firm or ultra's, neither of which 99% of Charlton fans want to be associated with.

Personally I quite like the flares and smoke-bombs, though I recognise the dangers of the former, and don't appreciate the heavy fines we'll receive if they continue to be used.

I'm all for trying to make some noise, but I'm starting to fear that is not all.

There has to be a clamp down now on objects being thrown on to the pitch after the Rio Ferdinand injury, and I'm afraid these morons will put us under the FA's spotlight. This sort of thing has to be nipped in the bud before it becomes the norm.
