Here's a quote from Helmut Marko with regard to the design of the new car ahead of it's unveiling tomorrow... Asked about the unattractive Ferrari solution, Red Bull's Marko insisted: "We have something that looks a lot better. "Our car is not as ugly as the Ferrari, but it's also not like the McLaren, which doesn't have a kink in the nose at all. "Ours is just a bit smaller and more elegant (than the Ferrari solution)," the Austrian added.
Yes, it wouldn't surprise me if the Red Bull looks like a cross between the Ferrari and McLaren. Although it is difficult to conceive of such a marriage, it would - as it were - be typical of Newey's offspring to find the best DNA from both. For instance, I would expect its rake to be less pronounced than McLaren's but steeper than Ferrari, etc. P.S. I still cannot believe how simply awful the Ferrari looks!
Perhaps Flabio sat down on the nose to take a breather whilst he was trying to oil his way into Ferrari.
ScarbsF1 Craig Scarborough So Red Bull simply stop the humps on the nose rather than merge them into the lower flat top nose
I'm not sure what they've done... it looks quite different to other teams' interpretations. please log in to view this image
well I liked the 'launch' up to a point, but we didn't really get a good look at the car, I can't quite make out what the 'step' looks like, to me it looks a bit like an air inlet
Yeah I noticed those vents the first time I watched it. Looks like they just stuck a pannel on top of the RB6 design to fit in the regulations.
Newey has missed things before; just look at the double diffuser or F-duct they are prime examples in recent years.
