What is it , this fixation with records ? I have nothing against Wayne , but the media is making too much of the fact that he has scored more goals for England than anyone else. How can his efforts be compared with for example , Bobby's ? It is not worth the time to have to delve into all the data for analysis to try and prove something. As with all players , past and present , and in any position , they have to depend on the other players in their team. Bobby and Wayne depended/depend on different players. Then there is the little matter of the opposition. There are many factors involved that make a fair comparison of total goals scored impossible. So why bang on about it.
