Just noticed that we have beaten 4 of the top 8 this year, and we should have won v Newcastle at home. We have a chance to make this 7 out of 8 v Utd, Citeh and Spuds. Irritatingly, the teams we've taken no points from are Norwich ( green and yellow flying vermin), Bolton, Sunderland and Foolham. 3 wins out of these 8 games, the world would be a different place. We are definitely better against the top teams, although it is generous to describe Liverpool as one of these and delightful to watch Dalglish do worse than Hodgson.
Not forgetting we could have easily got a point if not all three against Citeh at home. Still up there as one of our best performances of the season.
Well lets hope it continues. We really need a shock result against one of the big boys away from home. This week against Utd would be a good start.
And in a continuing effort to avoid what I have promised to do today - paint a room - I have also worked out that Norwich have only beaten 1 of the top 8 - Newcastle. This proves, as fact, that we are better than Norwich, in much the same way that The Da Vinci Code proves that Christ had a child and the Pyramids prove that we were visited by aliens. You can thank me later, just off to the stargate to get back to my own universe. And I agree Frank, we do worry less and play with more freedom against Le squadre grande.
...but I guess we will get only a draw against Spurs while losing against Chelsea, ManU and ManC. No problem as I predict we will get 8 points out of the remaining 7 games which will keep us in the PL.
The way Blackburn, Bolton and Wigan are going now I really doubt 8 points from our last 7 will be anywhere near enough!
Please look at their fixtures (I tried the BBC PL Predictor) and we ended up on th 16th - I am quite positive that 8 points should be enough and quite honestly I do not see us getting more points.
I have 7 points keeping us up on GD but 9 should do it. Having said that I bet all the other clubs had us down to lose to Arsenal and Liverpool and to be level on points with wolves now.
Sorry Buthuber, can't see 8 being enough with the way The other 3 are playing right now; wish it was though.
That is how see it... Hoping that Man u will be clear by the last game of the season leaving City with nothing to play for in the last game. Next week will be a tough weekend not only because we play united but because that other teams around us, exluding Wigan, have games they can pick up points from (wait for the Knee jerk re-actions), but during the week after it's all reversed so we should close back up then, a little patience required next weekend.
Hopefully our relegation rivals will all trip up on Saturday leaving us a bonus game against Man Utd. on Sunday, but with three games to be played in less than a week, it will be tough going and we will have to rely on the depth of our squad and keep our fingers crossed that nobody gets injured. Also hope that Man City have nothing to play for on the last day of the season.
