It is Record Store Day part 2 tomorrow, and this silly old sod will be queuing up in the sun to try to get his hands on an LP by the Dee Gees....this is really the Foo Fighters covering a few Bee Gees Tracks with a live performance on B side. Lots of other good stuff available, Cure Wild Mood Swings Pic Disc (25 year anniversary), Jerry Dammers Ghost Town demo and lot more. I know some of you are a vinyl junkie like me so tomorrow a few rarities will come out. Last month Amy Winehouse had a yellow vinyl double LP released with a few rare mixes which I thought about too long and wish I'd purchased. however....
I bought a great 50th Anniversary limited edition (only 1250 to press) picture disc of Janis Joplins' Pearl on RSD Part 1 lasr month. Also got one of my favourite albums on RSD last year - Mansuns' The Dead Flowers Reject, the sister album to Six which is superb. I'm working tomorrow so will have to do my RSD purchases online when the 6pm window opens.... Where are you going to do your shopping tomorrow? I've not got a lot of choice locally, the last two record stores in town closed down a few years back, so it's Paisley or Glasgow for me, although I do buy a lot of vinyl from independant record stores online
The nearest shop to me is Square Records in Wimborne Dorset. Boiler House Record Shop in Poole is a bit further away than Wimborne but they have a shed load of records and CD's. I now work in Poole so go there in my lunch break, shop has had major refurb in last few years and has a lot of collectables.
Enjoy your shopping mate. Keep your eye out for some good finds. Best of Bad Finger, the only other band to record on the Beatles Apple label. . please log in to view this image or you can dig deep for some Pink Floyd please log in to view this image
Mint music is my local store They had a picture disc of pearl from last month steelsy Nearly got it I ended up buying a limited edition picture disc of princes sign of the times from last year's rsd instead
Nearest shop to me is Sounds Original, and they don't do new vinyl! Which actually suits me. I'm stuck firmly in the past with regards to music I find new vinyl expensive. And the albums are often not properly mastered for vinyl. Which doesn't mean I don't buy the occasional disc. Here's my entire collection, if anyone is interested: https://www.discogs.com/user/awjm/collection
Spent more than I wanted but got what I wanted. Cure Galore (double pic disc, Dee Gees (Foo Fighters), Jerry Damners and Purple Disco Macine. Wanted more but.......have exepnses due at end of month :-( so was selective.
I don't normally buy the new vinyl but the record shop owner told me that the new stuff today is almost as good as anologe
You certainly have varied collection, mate. I have that John Mayall / Eric Clapton and the Bluesbreakers album.
Bloody internet shopping Just bought Cypress hill from rsd 2018 2500 released The streets from 2019 3000 pressed and another prince one from this year
That's a pretty good collection there pal! I have a fair few of the same records, mostly on vinyl but some on CD too although I don't even own a CD player anymore. Always planned to catalogue my collections, but never found the time.
To add to the collection I have just bought def Leppard when the walls come tumbling down rsd 2021 Thank **** they don't have it monthly
I picked Galore as an Ebay purchase bt today picked up Wild Mood Swings and also The Police, live in Boston blue vinyl. Is there a Cure for having a vinyl addiction or should I just accept I am a vinyl junkie?
