    Ours is still the poison dwarf at £17 million.

    According to Skysports list of record signings by team, Huddersfield and West Brom are the only teams in the Premiership with record signings below £17 million.

    So, the last time we were a force in the transfer market (unless you count the Carroll and Sissoko sales) was 2005. We are currently in the bottom 3 in record spending, with our position in the league table quickly following suit

    no coincidence that Ashley has been at the helm for the majority of the interim period since. I remember a load of people shooting their muck when it was announced an english billionaire was taking over from SJH et al. Ideas of grandeur were being thrown around in abundance, who'd have thought 10 years later the likes of Bournemouth, West Ham, Everton and Watford would be outspending us in the transfer market :)
