I'm curious about the reception that Andy Carroll will get ( and let's hope he gets on the pitch to hear it) at SJP. My view is mixed. Anybody in their right mind would welcome a tripling of their wages overnight and a massive extension to their contract. Coupled with the fantasy price attached to the deal was he ever going to stay for less cash/worse contract etc etc?
There again some people think the shirt comes first. Comparisons with Shearer ( loyalty etc etc) are not fair because he was never going to get a better deal elsewhere, and all the talk of ManU bidding never actually happened.

My view is the lad was looking out for himself and his departure helped us recruit most of our present first team.

Also, would his reception be any different to that we gave sicknote?

Andy Carroll isn't getting into the dippers first team at the mo but i'll guarantee he'll be starting against us

i reckon he'll get a great reception for his years of loyal service and love of this club <whistle>
