Just got off the phone from Dad who is having a great time on the IOM :emoticon-0130-devil

It was interesting that he also had a good time in the pub last night, loads of foreign fans at the TT for the races but he got drinking with a group from France & Germany, of course being Dad the topic got onto football. He was shocked by how many of them had heard of Hull City, but very happy to hear that none of them had heard of The Tigers or Hull Tigers so clearly the rebrand is working well :emoticon-0116-evilg

Good evening NFT, a little off- topic but I'm a massive bike fan, own a bike & am looking to go to IOM in 2017. Any tips & advice for a full 2 weeks camping in my own tent from your dad would be greatly appreciated, so jealous of hearing about your dad's trip, been watching TV coverage all week. Again thanks

Not me.....NFT is actually my Dad who is over there at the minute.

From what I understand the most important thing is booking early, I believe there are over 4000 ferry bookings made for 2016 already....Dad got a cancellation this year. He has a friend who lives on the IOM so camping isn't really his thing, he's currently bedding down on the floor in their front room but he's considering a motorhome for next year. I went a couple of years ago with a mate & we slept in the back of his transit van !! He had his bike in it when we went over & chained it to the back at night & we used it to get around the island for the races The weather is generally pretty shocking at least some time during the 2 weeks but the islanders are very good setting up places for a shower & to dry your gear (for free).

The best message I can give is BOOK EVERYTHING EARLY !!

Apparently these are a good idea if you can book one & want a little bit more luxury

We are in Indonesia just now and most people have heard of Hull City but not one person so far has mentioned The Tigers or Hull Tigers!

The club has never been more recognisable, though it is largely due to the Hull Tigers move. In the sense that the ridiculousness of the attempt is making headlines for all the wrong reasons.
