I've been away for a few days and have only just now had the chance to pass on condolences to the family of lady jockey Rebecca Black who passed away on Sunday. Riding at the Gore Christmas meeting in the South Island of New Zealand, the 40 year old's mount took a fall 700m from home, catapulting the poor lady into the track. A following horse was brought down and apparently fell on Ms Black. Two of Rebecca's children were at the meeting and witnessed the accident. Racing can bring great pleasure, but it can also rip hearts apart. There's a clip on YouTube of the incident, but I'd prefer not to post it. R.I.P. Rebecca Black.
