Right, sorry to sound so gloomy but can someone give me five reasons that we will win on Sunday, because I'm afraid I ca't think of one.

The only one I can think of is that it's a derby, and recent form goes out the window. I believe we have the team to play well, we can play a lot better than we have been.

    1 - It's a derby (See Sunderland Newcastle)

2 - We're very good at set pieces

3- Swansea are a bit **** at defending set pieces

    4- We're due a performance

    5 - We're at home

Now I know 2 and 3 are the same thing but I was struggling......... We'll need to be much better than we have been to avoid defeat, I'd take a draw and a decent performance.

I can think of 5 reasons why we can win :)
    1) Pablo is back, and with him we have creativity on the wings.
    2) Shelvey, he always has played well in the big games, even in his Liverpool days.
    3) Our games so far haven't been bad, just a bit slow paced, am hoping the derby will give us that lift we need to get forward quicker than we have been of late.
    4) We are the better team :p
    5) We play football, you play, urmmmm, not sure what it is you play tbh.

Oh wait got a 6th too.

    6) Even though played in Cardiff, we are the home team, as we are playing in Wales, not Malaysia.

Cannot wait, should be a great game :)

I realise I was tempting fate rather by posting this message but Can anyone think of a reason why anyone would want to spend more time on their rival's board than on their own other than because he's an infantile ****?

Always followed Liverpool and that is absolute bollocks. The fact he didn't step up to the plate in those matches is why he's playing for you now. He has undoubted talent, but can be very unreliable and is without doubt the player most likely on your side to do something stupid.

Glam you can **** off mate. I am here due to the derby coming up and have been getting on with some of you guys, not my problem your head is shoved up your arse. If you want a jack free board, then **** off to a private cardiff forum.

I always found he got up for the game, a bit too much at times hence his red cards and stuff, by losing his head, but up for the game he did. "Played well" was the wrong thing to say. But am hoping he is up for the game, and Laudrup can control him.

    5. I'm not sure what we play actually, but it confuses the hell out of the other teams.

There's been some decent banter on some of these threads the past 48 hours, but somebody always pops in with their knickers in a twist <laugh>

I'll agree with that, he'll be at 110%. The problem he's always had historically is that can have a negative effect on his performance. I will say he could very easily be the match winner.. but for either side!

Liverpool game for us this season is a great example of how Jekyll and Hyde Shelvey can be in a big game for him.

I wasn't going to use it as it was too obvious an example. In fairness to Shelvey he was superb in that game (with 2 very obvious exceptions).

We should be looking to rattle him and hopefully the crowd will get after him if he misplaces a few passes, but all banter aside I do rate him and believe he'll be a superb signing.

We don't need 5 reasons 1 is good enough.

We are better than them, simples.

Good for you Glam - that's the mark of a decent poster. <ok>

As far as your question is concerned mate, I can't honestly see any reason why we'll win the derby other than the very fact that it is a derby.

As already mentioned, Sunnerlan took it to Newcastle and beat what is on paper a better balanced side. I see no reason why we couldn't do the same, but if we don't believe it, we won't do it. We have to approach this game differently to our recent efforts.

Swansea are a well balanced side that will run the show if allowed. Possession isn't everything as demonstrated by the stats on their recent games, but allowing too much is inviting disaster.

A point each looks on the cards, but if either team is going to pinch it, I believe we are better placed to do it - WITH THE RIGHT GAMEPLAN!!
