Because I live 60-odd miles from Bristol, all my mates are "neutral" when it comes to our beloved club.

Sometimes we can all be too close to all of it - here's what they say about where Bristol City is now:

    1. City have a decent side and just need to win that first game
    2. The opening set of 10 fixtures were tough, and the side have not had much luck
    3. When we win that first game they can see us going on a run of 8 undefeated (5 wins - 3 draws was their phrase)
    4. Young players are being given a chance with Reid and Bryan looking excellent prospects
    5. SoD is an experienced manager who knows what he's doing
    6. The club needs to be on a different financial footing to what it has been in the last 5 years so the financial plan is essential

So let's hope they are right!!

For the record 2 support Liverpool and one supports Norwich

    7. We have the 4th highest attendances in the league, despite the dross that's served up week in week out

'smhbcfc' - Your 'mates' seem to have a lot to say for a club 60 miles away.
Forgive me if I find your 'story' difficult to believe.
Let's see Exeter is approx 60 miles away, as is Pompey, Southampton and little 'ol' Yeovil is much closer.

    My question to all -
Is there any City fan out there who has as much knowledge about the above clubs as smhbcfc 'mates' know about BCFC.

    No, I didn't think so.

My mates take an interest in Bristol City because I am a season ticket holder - just like I can tell you quite a bit about Norwich (which is a VERY long way away).

2 of my mates have played football to a reasonable standard - and if I'm really honest value their opinion on football more than some people who watch City every week.

"Difficult to Believe" - what on earth would I have to gain to make this up????

that would explain my compulsion to stand in Sainsburys to shout stuff at random people?

"oi you, you're **** at shopping, Persil? call that a washing powder"

    and you.

"call that a way to run checkout, your holding on to the products way to long, get it in the basket son early!"

Things could ALWAYS be worse, I could have been raised a SAG, and be forced to watch a club as appealing as what a Raddish would be to a bloke after a big night out!

Wolves at home, MK Dons away could be considered tough. Peterborogh was semi (lol, semi) tough as was Swindon, but as for the rest, we should have picked up wins or at least more points against the likes of Colchester, Shrewsbury, Bradford, Port Vale, and Coventry.

What excuses are going to be wheeled out if we dont win the next few 'tough ones' against Crewe, Crawley, Brentford, Oldham, Carlisle and Tranmere because they are not tough games. All of those fixtures are winnable and any return of less than 13 points wont be acceptable.

Yes the easier games came later - I do think Bradford was a tricky start because you never want to play the promoted clubs first up (and Bradford are riding high in the league). Coventry was always going to be a strange game (though 9 goals was bl**dy strange), and despite their financial plight, I've been told that their playing budget is still higher than ours.

it was about this time last year that we were 6th in the Championship table and talking about bigger and better things. And we got relegated.

So based on that, it's about now that we will turn the good play into better results and start to climb the table. Lots of games still to go. I like our players and I read what they write and they are desperate to win some games, for themselves and for the Manager.

Things are bad now, and on the occasions that JET doesn't perform we have REALLY struggled to make anything. Now consider what will happen if he goes off the boil for 10 games, or worse, leaves City in the transfer window in January.

If either of that happens, we may as well pull out our roadmaps to see how far away Morecambe and Accrington are.
