    1) Holt scored

    2) If we can start to string a few results together, it's much better to have a bad start and gain momentum later than it is to have a decent start and then hit freefall (like Wolves last year or Blackpool before them)

    3) Chris Hughton had a really good record at Newcastle (a bigger and more demanding club than us, and he clearly wasn't fazed by that challenge). He also worked wonders at Brum. So it is not as if we took a punt on a lower league manager who is now out of his depth.

    4) We're still ahead of where we planned to be when McNally came in

    5) We still have lots of games to come against the likes of Reading, Wigan, Southampton, etc, and if we win those games we should be fine. (For me, the fact that we didn't turn superiority into wins against QPR and West Ham is actually more worrying than today's defeat)

    6) We still have good players and a better allround squad than last season

    7) Everyone at the club, including us, now harbour no illusions about this season. It's going to be a long hard battle. As Wigan show season after season, sometimes this can work to a team's benefit when the race hits the final lap.

    8) Well, I got to 7! Can anyone else come up with any more?

Morison scored, and but for Jackson's fluffed volley, would have made a great assist.

Irrespective of what happens this season, we are secure from bankruptcy and administration, a fate which we only narrowly avoided just TWO years ago. <ok>
