Gillingham assistant manager Ian Hendon told BBC Radio Kent: "I went and watched Lincoln at home to Rotherham and they got beaten by six goals. We could have done that to Hereford last week - I think if we'd got an early goal the floodgates would have opened. Yes, Maybe if they moved their goal to 20 metres above the half way line, because thats where the ball spent most of the game. it was the worst game of football ive seen in years. instead of acknowledge where we went wrong and work on it Hendon seems to be fantasing about a possible 6 goal hammering that never looked on the cards at any stage. thoughts people?
Yeah, there is no doubt we should have done better. However Hereford came from the start, to waste every minute of the game. If Cody had converted those two early chances it could have been a different game, because Hereford would have had to change tactics and play. Even Bayo got in on the act early on by going for a shot, only to realise his foot was travelling through thin air. The ref played a big part in this match, he did indicate to his watch during the game to the Hereford players, then he would in the next instance hold the game up himself. Problem was it then turned in to hoof ball, even Richards playing his part in the game of rugby, by converting a try over the Gordon Road Stand what was that all about! Martin disappointed me, although Barcham seemed to get the blame from some fans - Martin his communication and reading of the situation with Barcham appeared poor to me. Poor game but also one of the worst refs this season. Then that is all just my opinion. Final note - Wycombe a few day's later also had a 0-0 against Hereford.
some fair points there BRB, I dont think anyone had a good game on saturday especially the ref. agree lets put it behind us and move on to the next game. I just think after a performance like that, talking of possible 6 goal hammerings is misplaced and also disrespectful to Hereford. we haven't scored 6 goals for a couple of years( have we?) so that sort of talk after a nil nil is head ( as with the ball on saturday) in the clouds stuff. i remember a similar game a couple of seasons back against barnet. i seem to remember we pushed on again after that. COYG!
Refs at our level all seem to be well **** this season, Come shocking decisions I have seen this season and they want respect well they are not earning it like.
Im saying in general mate, In nearly all the games I have been to this season the refs have had a bad effect on the match.
Interesting to see Hereford beat Chesterfield today 3-0. With a bit more composure in front of goal last week, they could quite easily have beaten us as well.
Yeah to Hereford they have had 3 good games now in a row, Us, Wycombe and now Chesterfield have been trashed by them.
Exactly shouting man. Hereford if anything looked more likely to score against us Still a good day yesterday.
