Really wish FIFA would take some sort of action about the disturbing frequency...

With which players drop down dead from heart attacks during matches.

Since Marc Vivien Foe in 2003, nearly 20 players have died of heart attacks during games

    For example: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marc-Vivien_Foé

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Miklós_Fehér
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Danny_Ortiz
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Antonio_Puerta

We've seen the dangers with Clive Clarke and the guy got seriously lucky. There was a case last summer of a 17 year old playing saturday league football dieing of a heart attack not far from where I live. The numbers are seriously concerning, and when FIFA is wrought with corruption, in fighting, etc etc it staggers me that never have they even considered putting together some sort of investigation into possible reasons behind it or backing some sort of awareness campaigns for this issue. Puerta was 22 when he died, Naoki Matsuda, the latest one was 34.

Bit of a morbid post 2 days before the season starts, but I find the lack of activity from the governing body of Football to be disturbing and ****ed up

That's very sad. The Japan/South Korea World Cup was the first one I really watched and Matsuda definitely rings a bell.

It is very concerning that a number of people as fit as pro-footballers are having heart attacks. It's difficult to know what FIFA can do though really, we all know what causes heart attacks and you'd hope every club monitors their players' general health as well as their fitness. People know their own bodies and also have a responsibility to look after them. Of course, sometimes these things are out of the blue and can't be helped. Full health checks should probably be performed regularly, maybe that is something that could be changed?

One thing I would say about FIFA though - playing the World Cup in Qatar is not a great idea if you are considering the health of players, coaches, officials and fans. The climate is bordering on unsafe.

We know all about this sort of thing at Leicester it happened to one of our loan players Vs Florist a while back, thankfully he made a full recovery although he had to give up the game.

its one of those things. As sad as it is, they are all physically fit. I dont know the ins and outs of it perfectly, but id imagine that if Clarke was checked before the game kicked off then nothing would have showed up. What can be done im not sure about at all.

Another thing is that FIFA want to play the 2022 Qatar World Cup in 50 degree heat. How on Earth can that ever be safe for professional sport. These 'air-conditioned' stadiums that were promised don't look like they're going to work and even if they do, it probably won't be enough and even then, they can't air condition training grounds, fan parks etc. Playing in winter will never happen and Qatar have already quashed that one because it will make them look stupid. I can honestly see a player losing his life in the 2022 WC and it will be down Blatter and his moronic. money-grabbing organisation. Another example of FIFA putting money over safety and common-sense.
