Unsurprisingly we have not been able to maintain our flying start to the season for the first fifteen games but 44 points after 21 game still puts us in a really strong position. Even an average of a point a game for the 25
games would give us 69 points which is usually just a few points short of a play-off place. With a couple of good signings next month this side is well capable of doing significantly better than that. The odds are we will get caught by at least one of the teams with stronger squads such as Blackburn for the automatic places but we have a great chance of being in the play-offs. In those tight games with our strong defence I can see us getting to Wembley and finally breaking our hoodoo there to bring a brilliant season to a fitting end.

Before our goal on Saturday we had dropped into third place. There does need to be a little more oomph upfront. Whether that is Nolan taking more shots or Dodds suddenly finding his mojo again, or somebody in the squad such as Payne, LJL, or Gnuhoua working better with Morris and upping our shots on target statistic. Perhaps Hurst has a plan to bring someone in but we do have several in our squad already.
