Crucial game for us if we're to have any European football whatsoever next season, and indeed win anything. Decent team Sociedad, but certainly not unbeatable. Doesn't help we've so many injuries, but we've still got a team that can win, playing in Amorim's preferred formation (not yours!). __________________________________________Onana _______________Marazroui__________________de Ligt________________Yoro Dalot____________________________________________________________________________Dorku _________________________________________Casemiro ____________________Fernandes______________________________________Collyer _________Garnacho_________________________________________________________Zikzee ___________________________________________Hojlund Will have to make do.
I assume the silence and lack of calling for the manager to be sacked means last night was deemed acceptable. Great news. On to the next game.
Don’t be ridiculous! We drew a match against an average side and sits in 9th place in Spain ffs!! Is that really success for us now? Manchester United head coach Ruben Amorim says the club will not give him the time that Mikel Arteta was afforded to change fortunes at Arsenal. What’s the point of calling for him to be sacked? He does that all by himself at this point.
Yep, so impressed with the side last night, a masterclass in coaching, every single one of them has upped their game since Amorim arrived - why didn't we get him on board earlier........................... yawn.
lol. You’re taking this way too personal, dude. If your knowledge of the way forward is what you class as gold standard, then we are obviously fked as a club.
Chief, when the man gets sacked, he will get a nice package to take into retirement for few years and then goes back to another club do it all again. You need admit that the club has jumped massive steps backward under Amorim. I wanted ETH out! But I’m not against letting the next manager go if the team goes from bad to worse, which is exactly what has happened under Amorim. There is hardly anywhere to identify positives from where we were in November. This is factual based on results and he clearly hasn’t worked out for us. You need to stop acting as though he is your family member and the last hope on earth. The sooner we admit the mistake, the better.
The question is not how long. It is a dumb policy to simply think that giving more time guarantees success. In various cases, managers have immediate impact that tends to fade with time unless they can show that the team is moving in right direction. If after 24 games there are no indications of progress, then you have to be honest with yourself that the method is not working out. The manager needs to admit that he needs to change his methods and demonstrate progress in results. But if he’s keeping the methods in place, that is not a recipe for success. Amorim knows this and has communicated as much. Why are we fighting over it?
Start at the beginning. The manager told the club he wanted to join in the summer not halfway through the season because his methods take a lot of teaching/learning the club told him was now or never so he joined. He gets a maximum of two days per week to get his ideas into the team and practice whilst also having to keep changing players due to injury. Last night i saw positive signs that the team/squad are starting to understand what is required from them. The passing was much faster and players had more than one option to pass to pretty much every time. We got the ball forward faster and into the area more (with players actually getting in there too). Players are starting to track back more when out of possesion and pressing better to win the ball back in the opposition half. We have Mainoo and AMAD for a long time unfortunately but when they return they will make a big difference because they already understood what was needed from them. We need youinger/fitter replacements for Casimero and Eriksen but that is a job for summer. Would i like to see another keeper than Onana, yes Am i happy that he keeps moving Garnacho over to the right in the second half, no but he must have a reason.
I can't keep repeating myself. He's not a mistake. He's not the mistake. He's part of the process of clearing up the mess of the last decade, why the actual **** do you not get it? He's not the problem. (Nor were ten Hag, Rangnick, Ole etc.) Wherever it is you're located, you don't know what's going on at United. At all. You just lap up whatever ****e you read.
You’re clearly very narrow-minded. Please shut the fk up please about where I’m located! I have lived in places across the UK than you can only imagine. I live in West Palm Beach today because I fkin can! I can choose wherever the fk I need to be to fulfill the lifestyle I want. Besides, where one lives is without a doubt not a requisite for comprehending something as mundane as football. So please get off that topic already and focus on your own situation.
You miss out the fact, when correctly identifying the huge mistake that is our current goal keeper, that we do not have a functioning centre forward. But, according to out pal @cytrax, we don't actually need one! Despite the fact that it's right there in front of our eyes that, guess what, we do! We are missing two crucial players every game; a decent keeper and a decent striker. If you add Dalot being just about average (I've said this since day one), in whatever position in defence or attack he plays, there is a situation right there that the manager has at least one arm tied behind his back. But, something about the formation.
I am actually hoping that one of Zirzee or Hojlund will come good as they are both young. Zirkzee (for me) has the speed, movement and desire but has no physical strength. Hojlund has speed and strength but no control, his movement/positioning is ok too. In short, yes we do need a striker.
Zirkzee is coming good, but he's no centre forward. He'll be a decent player behind or wide of an actual striker. Hojlund has gone backwards.
