Real Madrid have seemingly concocted a plan to basically prize away all of the Spuds best players whilst they give them their academy cast offs. It was a good plan to lower down the cost but now it's done Real Madrid will probably wash their hands of them and I doubt there will be any financial gain form Spurs point of view.

The idea got me thinking if we really are in for Hulk why have Porto and Chelsea not struck up a similar deal. With the amount of talent we've prized off Porto it would make things a lot easier. I'd far rather players like Borini, Gokhan Tore and Rajkovic have ended up there than the clubs they are at now.

Porto want £40m, we want £30m. What's wrong with saying £35m + "partnership agreement". Deal done.

Or am I just being a tad nieve now?

Arsenal have a similar agreement with Manchester & Barcelona
Bit one sided though to be fair
Maybe they can have Wayne Bridge & Bebe as a sweetener ?

<laugh> I guess I'll take it as compliment.

But how am I being two faced? We are in a similar situation with Hulk as the two clubs can't agree on a price so I don't see why a proposal can't be put forward, We're currently in a Partnership with LA Galaxy and PSV so why not Porto? I just want the deal to either be done or scrapped. Being stuck in the middle is doing my head in

It was a general comment to be honest and more down to me being a bit sensitive for reasons outside of Not606 :emoticon-0111-blush

Anyway, ESPN seem to understand that the agreement has nothing to do with us losing players to them, as most of us suspected. We know nothing of what this new partnership entails so it's difficult to say whether it's something Porto would be interested in.

It's okay YV I could never be upset with you.

In all seriousness nobody knows the ins and outs of the partnership and I doubt it'll be any different to Chelsea and PSV for instance.

It was a little bit of a wind up to be honest, not the bit about Porto though :emoticon-0103-cool:

Reading the statement from Real's President it is hard to understand just what this tie up is but usually with one big club,Real Madrid, and one small club, spuds, the usual term that is used if feeder club.

I think this means spurs probably have first dibs on players like Sahin when his loan deal expires at pool.
