Tottenham Hotspur face Real Madrid on Tuesday 5th April 2011 in the first leg of the UEFA Champions League Quarter Finals.

The second leg will be played at White Hart Lane on Wednesday 13th April 2011.

The winners of the tie will meet the winners of Barcelona v Shakhtar Donetsk in the Semi-Final.

In 1961, Bill Nicholson instigated Tottenham Hotspur's tradition of playing in an all-white kit for their European matches by telling his players "You look like Real Madrid - now go out there and play like them!"

Spurs and Real Madrid have already met once before in the fourth round (Quarter Finals) of the UEFA Cup in season 1984-85.

Tottenham lost 0-1 at home, which was their first defeat at the Lane in European football since 1961.

Given our current injury situation (King, Woodgate, Hutton, Kranjcar and Palacios all out and Corluka very doubtful), I think Harry will opt for this starting line-up tonight...

    Gomes

    Kaboul - Dawson - Gallas - Assou-Ekotto

    Huddlestone - Modric

Lennon - Van der Vaart - Bale

    Pavlyuchenko

Subs: Cudicini (GK), Bassong, Khumalo, Sandro, Jenas, Pienaar, Defoe.

Just play your reserves and concentrate on trying to get the last champions league place, at least the europa spot.

Or play your full team, lose more confidence, and maybe we'll catch up to you and you'll have no european football at all next season..... ;)

Moorinho parked the bus which is why Ronaldo has got his thumb in. Think Spurs could have done this with Crouch. Worried about the second half but the bookies aren't, in-vision odds are still very much for Real to win in the second half.

Well you got to ask Liverpool fans...where would we be if we still had Arbeloa and Alonso? Got to say well done to the Spurs fans. Supported your team right to the end. We all know the gooners would have left after Ronaldo's goal. Will be interesting if you can keep Modric, Assou-Ekkotto, Bale and Dawson if you don't get CL. Crouch also showed how massive a miss he was. Reckon it will be Barcelona vs Utd final again at Wembley. Oh dear. Don't think I'll be able to watch that one.
